Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Mark and Chomchay are very kind to keep the room for us till late. Although we haven't often met each other , they gave me a lot of guidance, from transportation to daily life, in their room with a lot of tips, to help your daily life. Our room is very comfortable, clean and beautiful, also have children's table and chairs for my son, is really nice. The house is in a quiet street with beautiful environment, not far from LA scenic spots, the location is convenient. If we have chance to go to LA next time, I will choose here again.

  • My first Airbnb stay and it couldn't have been any better. Their home is well taken care for and they have signs for everything. Not in a naggy way but just letting you know common house rules or answers to questions you might have so you aren't standing around wondering what to do if no one is around. There are movies and coloring books for the kids (but who am I kidding, I totally took advantage of the Lisa Frank coloring book) and even maps of the city for you to use. The backyard is pretty amazing too and there is so much light during the day in the room. They keep space open in the fridge so you don't have to eat out during your stay (or leftovers for if you do!) and it has great parking. Seriously, why spend several hundred dollars at a crap hotel? This place beats any kind of hotel room and Mark and Chay are just really nice and will try and get to know you, or talk with you about anything. Couldn't recommend this place enough. So what are you doing here? Go... Book it!

  • Absolutely gorgeous! I loved staying here Mark and Chomchay were so great and hospitable. It was like staying with friends. Their house was immaculate! Seriously. It was the cleanest place I have stayed since my Grandma's and she uses bleach ALLL the time! LOL. I really enjoyed staying here. It was nice and quiet and the perfect place to crash after a long, hard day at work.

  • Mark and Chay are truly gracious hosts. Their residence is immaculate and stands up to it's title of "urban retreat" , as it rests on a calm and beautiful street just off of one of LAs major roads. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and all necessities had been provided. I recommend they're place to anyone traveling to LA. Thanks again guys! And good luck on all your future endeavors.

  • I'm doing a trip to San Francisco to LA by car and Mark & Chay was the best place that i stay so far. They built a beatiful house in layout and love. Recommended for sure! :)

  • I had such a lovely experience when I stayed at Mark & Chomchay. They were very interesting and laid back people. I had privacy in my beautiful room and I also felt warm and welcomed when we shared time in the kitchen and living room. I loved that they were sensitive and welcoming to me as a guest and after hours of chatting it was as if we were old friends. I LOVE the way there house was decorated and so clean, just the way I like to live. It always smelled fresh. They were so nice and I felt so privileged to have the opportunity to stay at such an oasis in LA. Even the street leading to the house was so magical. Lined with old beautiful trees. From my bedroom window I could watch the sunset with the silhouette of palm trees.... Hope they come to visit me here one day too!!

  • With limited options for hotels in mid city LA, Urban Retreat was a great option. Both the room and the house were very comfortable. Recommended.
