Welcome! We invite you to log off and disconnect in our peaceful home situated in the heart of a historic, partially-gated neighborhood called Wellington Square. A second and third bedroom called "Aloha" and "Ohana" are available for larger groups.
Our gorgeous Spanish Revival house was built in 1922 and showcases original mahogany woodwork, lighting and Batchelder tiled fireplace, and original tiled bathroom. Our picturesque home has been featured in a commercial in Japan.
This listing is for one huge bedroom (350 sq. ft.) for up to four (4) people. We've nicknamed this space "Mahalo". There is a couch, queen-sized bed, and an extra queen futon mattress as needed. We also have other bedrooms "Aloha" and "Ohana" available in the same house. Or if you prefer your own private house, we offer the three bedroom Japanese Retreat "Tatami House" (photo shown above). I had a very nice time. Location was perfect. My only regret was not getting a chance to spend time in the garden since I was so busy touring around LA!
What a great experience at Mark and Chomchay's! The house is very nice and clean. Everything's ready for a pleasant stay. I will definitely come back next time in LA.
The place was very clean. Easy checking in and out without even meeting the hosts. Chay and Mark are nice. I wish I met them in person. Highly recommended.
It is really a wonderful house! Nice neighbourhood, nice surroundings. We had a great time staying here!
Well, I can't add much more than the rest of the commentators already have regarding the wonderful experience. But big thanks to Mark & Chomchay for accommodating my last-minute booking request to give me the chance to stay there. Cheers!
Always an easy stay. This is my third time staying here and I still love how calm this place is even though it's in the heart of the city. You really do feel the meaning of urban retreat while staying here.
This was my most exceptional AirBnB experience up to date. I was wellcomed by an opening door even before I was out of my car. The house was full of light, air and serenity. Thus, I had a marvellous time in this really relaxing, perfectly clean and highly recommendable, truely urban retreat. If you do not believe my superlatives just go there and see yourself! The neighbourhood is very well kept and tres sympa, such a positive suprise wenn you turn in from Freeway or main Bvd into the street of this remarkable house. You will meet exactly what I am praising here. I enjoyed the modern, well kept japanese living culture in a well preserved historical spanish setting so much. In the morning I greeted the rising sun and the turtles in the spacious back garden, with its little Japanese extension, and in the evening I prepared a nice salad with my house-mate from Turkey. It was just perfect. I`ll be back one day and I hope to see Mark's and Chomchay's Baby, who will then be walking around.
