Romantic Beach House

Entire house hosted by Sue And Peter
5 guests1 bedroom2 beds1 bath
Entire home
You’ll have the house to yourself.
This beach house has a wonderful surf break right out front and is located in the rural fishing village of Jiquilillo near the Padre Ramos reserve.

The space
ISOLATE IN PARADISE! We don't recommend traveling these days, but if you're in the area our house offers an ideal setting with minimal interaction with other people. You can take long walks on an empty beach and surf one of the best waves in northern Nicaragua right in front of the house. Fruit and veggie trucks drive past the houses and offer excellent produce without going to a store. Fresh fish is available from the local fishermen. Small, uncrowded, local stores, or ventas, can supply other basic needs.
If your idea of a great vacation is to travel halfway around the world to find another Starbuck's, then this is not for you. If, on the other hand, you long to be on the edge of an authentic Nicaraguan fishing village, surf incredible waves by yourself, or walk along the beach that Moon's Travel Handbook describes as "relatively deserted, undeveloped and absolutely beautiful. This is a beach like no other", then this is for you.
Our house is located in the northwest corner of the Pacific side of Nicaragua, in the Padre Ramos Estuary region, just outside the town of Jiquilillo.
This romantic one bedroom house is ideal for a couple, or the house can sleep up to 5 people. There's a queen sized bed in the bedroom, there's also a double bed in a corner of the dining area, and a couch that's big enough to use as a bed.

The interior decoration is playful and the open floor plan, with its incredible views of the ocean, from all living spaces, enhances your vacation experience. The large patio in front of the house overlooks the beach and has a built in table for outside drinking and dining. It has a beautiful open design that utilizes the natural breezes of the ocean for cooling.

The beach, 30 seconds from the front porch, is absolutely beautiful and relatively deserted.

Guest access
There is a shaded rancho with hammocks and you have the entire house to yourself. The caretaker lives close by.

Other things to note
There's a wonderful table on the front porch where we enjoy watching the pelicans fly by while eating or drinking coffee. It's a great place to watch surfers in front of the house.

Location

Jiquilillo, Chinandega, Nicaragua

Our house is on the road into the town of Jiquilillo. This town is a functional fishing village where you can buy fish right off the boat. The woman across the street has a small store in her home and is a great cook, too. If we let her know in the morning that we would like a fish or chicken dinner, she'll have it ready.
The uncrowded beach is an agate lover's paradise. If you go left you have miles of undisturbed beach to walk on. If you go right you go into the heart of the fishing activity. There are more restaurants in town, as well.

My husband Peter and I have family in Nicaragua and love to spend time there. People are so warm and friendly. We love connecting with others, eating the local food and traveling around a bit. We have a home in the redwoods of Northern California, close to the beach, and have family in this area as well. Family and travel are very important to us.
