  • We were in Southern California for a 4 day cruise out of Long Beach. We wanted more relax time before heading home to Utah so we booked at Margaret's place in Carpinteria. What an amazing place and lady. We had the best and most relaxing time. The room and bath were roomy and comfortable and right next to the laundry which we used and the well-appointed kitchen. Also next to the patio and Jacuzzi.
Margaret was an absolutely wonderful hostess who made us feel at home in her house and shared maps and information with us readily so that we could make the most of our stay. She was very knowledgeable about the town and area having lived there for years. She fired up the hot tub for us each evening. Her dog, Lucky was so very well behaved and took to us right off but was never in our way. The neighborhood and house were charming and quiet. Margaret let us use her bikes to tour the town and ride to the bluffs overlooking the seals and their pups. Of the whole vacation, our stay with Margaret in Carpinteria was the best part! Margaret, knowing that we love citrus fruit, picked from her and her neighbor's tree and gave to us an entire box of lemons, oranges and grapefruit we we are still enjoying! We would DEFINITELY stay here again.

  • Margaret made us feel at home from the moment we got in touch with her! She's so kind and helpful! Her home is clean, warm, and welcoming. The walk along the beach with her and her dog Lucky was a special treat:-) I would highly recommend anyone staying in the area to stay with Margaret. I

  • We had a wonderful three days at Margaret's. Everything was even better than we'd imagined- very comfortable and private bedroom and bath with lovely down pillows and comforter, lovely sunroom, fabulous well stocked kitchen, which Margaret invited us to use fully., trusting us with full access to everything, and then....the bikes, which we used happily to get into town, and the hot tub! To top this all off, Margaret couldn't have been nicer. She is a warm , generous, and most helpful host. We were sad to leave, but she supplied us with a bushel of fresh citrus fruits for the rest of our journey up the coast. And we will be back, hopefully next year!

  • Very pretty and extremely clean home. It was a very nicely remodeled home and was left for us in showroom condition.

Margaret, from the beginning, was very welcoming and accommodating. She provided very clear communication through emails, calls & texts, and could not have been nicer.

Margaret was out of town during our stay, but her planning provided for a seamless experience. When we arrived she left a sheet with helpful information as well as information on local events and a map. She even had provided many groceries for us in the fridge.

We would highly recommend this rental; 5 stars for the hostess and 5 stars for the quality of the accommodations.

  • Great overall. My flight was delayed 7 hours and that meant I got in at midnight-- after the car rental offices closed. Margaret very nicely offered to pick me up from the airport! The profile says she's willing to pick up from the train station, so I was really pleasantly surprised she'd be willing to drive the 30+ minutes each way to pick me up in the middle of the night. I don't know what I would have done had I stayed in a hotel. Her son also drove me all the way back to the airport the next day so I could get my car!

The entire trip was great, and it was so nice to have a fridge full of food at my disposal so I didn't have to eat out all the time if I didn't want. Everything you might need was laid out and sticky notes everywhere. You could tell a lot of thought went into it.

  • We enjoyed our stay! Margaret's home was warm and inviting, very comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable, linens good quality. The bathroom updated and Maraget provide high quaility toiletries and creams as well and hair dryer and other essentials, nice touch :). The kitchen was fully accessable for our use, loved the wolf stove, coffee was ready each morning (thank you Margaret) and lots of goodies to snack on. We enjoyed the sun room with our morning coffee as well as her lovely patio and yard full of plants and birds. We did not have time to use the spacious hot tub. The beach is a 10 min drive or a short bike ride away. Margaret's home is in a quite well kept (website hidden) was 15 to 20 min away in normal traffic. We would definately stay again!! • Margaret was a considerate and gracious host. We borrowed her bikes for a fun ride to downtown (the proximity is fantastic!) And had a peaceful and relaxing space to call our own in her lovely home. Plus, that jacuzzi was perfect! THANK YOU!

  • Our stay at the Beach House retreat was great. The room was very comfortable and the joining bath was clean and modern. • Margaret was a superb host! She is sweet and welcoming, and the home is very comfortable. The location is near (and uphill from) the beach but not super close. The property is beautiful with gorgeous fauna. I would absolutely visit again and highly recommend staying with Margaret.
