Ca' Barba B&B is a wonderful place because of Alessandro Barbato. Alessandro really wants you to have an amazing experience in Venice! Upon the beginning of your stay with Ca' Barba B&B he provides with two books that break down Venice in order to give you, as a tourist, a better understanding of the city. He also provides you with tips and tricks in order to avoid the touristy spots, this way you can have a true Venetian experience! Alessandro provides an amazing breakfast every morning, the chocolate croissants are amazing, and is always willing to answer any questions you may have regarding Venice. Alessandro told my husband and I to go to St. George, and to head to the top of the bell tower because it provided the best view in all of Venice, and he was right! The pictures we took in the tower were some of the most beautiful pictures of our entire trip!
The B&B is located in a great spot! It's a minute away from a beautiful farmer's market (Rialto Mercato) and completely within walking distance of Rialto and St. Mark's. Another great thing about this B&B is that it's not in the middle of everything, so if you wanted to take a break from all the sights and sounds of Venice, you can get to the B&B quite easily without any problems.
If you are looking for a great overall experience in Venice, I would recommend Ca' Barba B&B over any of the major hotels in the area because of Alessandro, who is willing to go above and beyond to help you, he met us at the Vapretto stop in order to show us to the B&B, and also called us a water taxi when we left for the (website hidden)'Barba B&B is going to give you the best of everything in Venice!
I had a previous accommodation which was cancelled on me at the last minute. I reserved Alessandro's apartment the night before. And he was quick in replying and accepted my reservation!
Alessandro was an wonderful host and gave really clear instructions about finding the apartment. He even sent Alberto to find me at the water bus stop, but I was too quick and went to the apartment myself. The room looks exactly in the pictures. It was very clean! I would highly recommend everyone to book Alessandro's rooms because he goes all the way to make his guests welcomed and comfortable. AND the breakfast served was very satisfying, especially the cookies! :D
Most helpful local information made out Venice trip a huge success. The apt was great and the location was just perfect.
This place is outstanding. Central to nearly everything and very comfortable to stay in. We were pleasantly surprised by our welcome to the B&B. Alessandro met us and graciously offered coffee & tea as he gave us just the right amount of information to get us going on our stay in Venice. Breakfast was great and it was also very nice to have an espresso machine in the room. The room was clean, the breakfast area was cozy and comfortable. We really felt like we were meeting up with a family friend by how welcome Alessandro made us feel and how comfortable we were at this B&B. We will absolutely choose to stay here on our next trip. One thing to note, make sure you change money before getting to Venice. The banks do not change currency and the Forex/change bureau charges a fee of 37%. Crazy.
We had an excellent stay with Alessandro! He was very helpful with providing us recommendations of where to visit away from the tourists, where to eat, and where to experience the true Venetian culture. He greeted us every day with coffee and breakfast and we were able to discuss with him what we plan on doing and what are options are. He let us read books that truly described Venice, and recommended that we not use a map and get lost, as well as find multiple dead ends. The location was perfect, next to the market, close to a water taxi stop, and in the central location. The apartment was also clean and an excellent size for the 2 of us. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend staying there!
Alessandro was incredibly helpful and welcoming, giving us great advice for areas to explore during our stay in Venice. The room itself was very comfortable and clean and the Bnb well located with an excellent breakfast. I would definitely recommend staying Ca' Barba.
staying at Ca' Barba B&B ws absolutely delightful. Alessandro was a mine of insider information off the beaten tourist track which made my stay more enjoyable. his breakfasts gave one the opportunity to try real venetian treats (don't miss the almond sweets or chocolate filled buranis). the neighborhood was quiet and quaint, down a narrow side alley and there you were, only a 3 minute walk to the vaporreto yet hidden away...would go back anytime
