  • What a great stay we had at Giancarlo's apartment! He was such a nice host as he offered to pick us up from the airport and brought us fresh fruit in the morning. Besides, the room is very conveniently located right next to the Colosseum. The room is small but very clean and tiny, even as the bath room. All in all a great stay that I would definitely recommend to others.

  • Giancarlo picked us up at the airport at midnight which was fantastic seeing public transport wasn't running - and we didn't even have to ask for it!
The location of the apartment is perfect for sightseeing: the moment you leave the front door you can see the Colosseum, unbelievable! The place is not very big but it has everything, even an outside area should you have better weather than we did. Rome was still great though and Giancarlo looked after us well. Definitely worth recommending.

  • prime location- the best thing in this place, really in the heart of the touristic part of Rome. a min walk from the Colosseum metro station. the room includes AC, WIFI, bathroom, closet and a shared kitchen. it is important to mention that giancarlo doesn't live on sight. Giancarlo, the host, was really worm, nice and gladly helped us with any question we had. really cute!

  • The Colosseo-Orange is in a comfortable, well furnished and ideally located. My stay here was very comfortable, and I definitely recommend to anyone to stay here. Giancarlo is a gracious, and helpful host, and makes you feel at home. He is very helpful to any questions that you may have. Being 5 minutes from the Metro and Colosseum makes Giancarlo's the place for any sight seer the place to be!

  • Giancarlo was a very professional host, responsive to my every query (within 24 hours prior to my stay and within an hour during my stay). Upon learning I was a woman traveling alone, he offered to pick me up from the airport, as navigating the Italian train system can be complicated. The apartment is comfortable and “user friendly” -- no fiddly locks or inexplicable cords as sometimes appear in older homes. Giancarlo doesn’t live on sight, so I didn’t see him after our check-in, but he left me an Italian phone with which to text or call him if I needed anything.

Giancarlo rents both of the rooms conjointly. Each room has it’s own separate bathroom but share a common kitchen. I had the place to myself the first evening, and there were other guests in the Orange room for the second night of my stay. I found this to be pleasant and social, but guests who are seeking a more private experience may prefer to rent the whole apartment.

I had everything I needed and the apartment was comfortable and easy to enjoy. The décor has it’s own character and is sparse but comfortable nonetheless. Giancarlo stocks the refrigerator with breakfast foods, which I appreciated. I visited in March and it was too cold to enjoy the little piazza off the guest rooms but it would be delightful in the summertime.

The apartment’s central location is its major selling point. It is on the ground level of a quiet side street, but when you walk at the door you are met with a stunning view of the Centro Storico. As you walk further, you see the Coliseum and the Palatino directly to your left, and many of the major sights are in walking distance. The Colosseo metro stop is also right out your front door, making it convenient to get to other locations. Despite its proximity to major sights, the spot is separate enough from the tourist hub bub that you feel you are experiencing the real life as a Roman.

  • Amazing location, colosseo is just outside the room. apartment is very nice and cozy, it has almost everything you need during your stay. Giancarlo takes care of things and he'll also provide you a local number to contact him or to recieve calls.

just to mention here that the kitchen is to be shared with another room though they have separate bathrooms.

over all very nice place, i would surely prefer staying there again.

  • This was my first airbnb experience abroad and I had many reservations on staying by myself and the accuracy of the place I would be staying.

Giancarlo eased my anxiety by responding promptly and with excellent information on how to navigate the site and process. I also booked on very short notice and Giancarlo was super flexible about the check-in process.

The images online do not appropriately display how AMAZING this place is. It is truly steps away from the Colosseum and the building where the apt is is quintessentially Rome. The bed was especially comfortable and the linens were lovely, a cute kitchen above average bathroom facility and there was a washer on property too!

My local friends who came to drop me off were so impressed and wanted the link for Giancarlo's place so they can refer to their visiting friends and family.

I was sad to leave this place. And although I know it was only home for me just a few days. I will always think of it as my home in Rome.

You must book now or I might just beat you to it!

  • Colosseo-Orange was exactly as pictured and described! Extremely convenient location - the Colosseum is truly steps away. Giancarolo was great, got in touch with us immediately upon arrival to check in on how we were doing. Would definitely recommend this location to a friend.

About
Almost 40 years, but fortunately it proved much less! I work for a multinational company, a good job, but sometimes boring! I love everything about the hospitality and the welcoming of tourists from all over the world. As far as I can, I try to make their vacation easier, helping, advising, giving you tips to see a different Rome, a Roman who perhaps do not appreciate because he lives every day, but for the tourist experience remains fascinated! Have a happy guest of acceptance, of details, suggestions, is the largest in absolute satisfaction! It is not a job .... it's a passion!
