The guest accommodation comprises a lounge and attic bedroom. There is central heating but should guests feel the need to get really cozy there is a log burning stove. The kitchen and bathroom are shared with myself. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen for their own cooking needs.
I supply basic breakfast ingredients and as much tea and coffee as you can drink. There is no TV here so it's very much make your own entertainment or view on demand via broadband. I can help with plans to visit local sites of interest.
I live in a fairly rural setting and my village has no facilities. However nearby towns and villages have some very nice eateries, shops, castles, post offices, steam railways, beaches, gardens.
The problem with rural is the infrequency of public transport and therefore I could not in all honesty say it is an ideal location for those relying on buses to get to and from here. However I am less than an hour cycling distance from Bangor railway station.
Bodawen is a very traditional welsh stone cottage which has retained it's character and charm. Everyone who visits is fascinated by its history and quirkyness. The garden is resplendent most of the year and the views of Snowdon superb. It is an ideal base for exploring the National Park .
I'm a fairly chilled chap so can cope with most people but would appreciate those who at least do their own dishes - I'm not your mother!!
Had a fantastic stay here. Luke was very hospitable and had a roasting fire going in the snug ready for our arrival. The word cosy doesn't even come close.
Luke was a fantastic host for our one night stay! We didn't have evening plans and ended up staying in and talking all night. Luke was beyond accommodating letting us make use of his kitchen and keeping the fire going in our room. We heard some great stories about his travels and had some good laughs. We would highly recommend Luke's home for anyone's stay.
Great location to get to the zip wire at zipworld.
Comfy warm stay with a burning log fire. Lovely bed above with no disturbances or outside noise!
Luke left us to it and let us use his kitchen.
Would stay again if in the area but id just bring my laptop or iPad to watch movies.
Luke's place is such a hidden gem. It is not overly secluded and can be reached very easily especially if you drive. My husband and I stayed there for 3 nights and we absolutely loved it. The lounge area was kept warm and cosy by the wood-fired stove (an excellent experience for us who grew up in big busy cities). On top of that, Luke was great company, knowledgeable about life, travel and the area! Definitely would want to stay there again if we do visit that part of Wales! In fact, we are already missing Luke's home!
We very much enjoyed our stay. The private snug area with the wood fire was a great touch and made for a couple of cosy evenings. Luke was very accommodating; providing us with hot showers, coffee, breakfast, and use of the kitchen for cooking. He was great to sit down and chat with, had interesting stories/experiences to share and gave us our own privacy when required. The cottage is less than 20 minutes from Mt. Snowdon and other beautiful landscapes, I would return to Luke's cottage if visiting the area again.
We stayed 2 nights at Luke’s cosy cottage and we enjoyed very much our stay. When we arrived, everything was ready, the room was warm, the stove was on and Luke was waiting for us. He was very welcoming, attentive and willing to help. Overall, our stay was excellent and we specially loved the lounge, where we read long hours in front of the fire. Expecting to come back soon, we highly recommend the experience.
Luke was a great host. Very hospitable. His cottage is wonderful. The extra room with the wood stove was great for hanging out in. Wish we had more time to spend
