The Space

Completely refurbished Studio Apartment in a traditional old stone house in the village of Kastel Kambelovac, conveniently located between Split and Trogir on the beautiful Dalmatian Coast of Croatia.

Our apartments are located in a traditional old stone house which has been recently refurbished. We did our best to preserve the typical character of Dalmatian architecture on the outside, however the apartment is modern and equipped to a good standard on the inside. The Yellow Studio is located on the ground floor has a double bed for 2 adults. All other 3 apartments in the building have a double bed and sleep two people (one of them has a sofa bed which can be used for a 3rd person -Blue Studio)

Located on the sea front, literally 5m from the sea with unobstructed views, and about 50m from the nearest beach. Split, Croatia's second largest city and capital of Dalmatia Region, is only 25 min away by local bus, and so is Trogir, another beautiful resort going North from Kastela. The attractions of Kaštel Kambelovac include nice beaches, authentic Dalmatian restaurants, a beautiful seaside promenade and the nearby hill Kozjak – hillwalkers heaven. Short airport transfer (approx. 15 min) and excellent location between Split and Trogir make this fishing village a relaxing yet very convenient holiday destination.

FROM 2013 air-conditioning and tourist tax INCLUDED in the price.

  • We had great days in the dalmatia region thanks to great breakfast every morning in front of the sea. The room was just as described: yellow and sunny! Enjoy!

  • I arrived at the apartment early afternoon and was met by the young house keeper Thea, who made me feel very welcome on arriving. The apartment building with 4 flights is right on the sea and the fishermenn are up early every morning. I stayed on the top floor and view amazing .... But remember warm jackets as it can get pretty windy by the sea. The place is a good spot for a stoppover on arring and seeing the area surrounding. The beautiful town Trogir, mountains and vinyards. Only a short distance from the smallest town, with the local food shop and wine celler beside each other. Bus nr. 37 runs regularly. Thea looks after her guests , and runs the place well.

  • Dardo and Tea were extremely nice and helpful. The location and price are excellent. If you are looking for something really quiet and relaxing, it'(email hidden) to experience the Dalmatian coastline and still be able to travel into Split by bus every 20minutes for around 2 Euro. The apartment itself is rather small, but its comfortable enough for one person or a couple. Very good value.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was perfect for two and very cosy. Tea the housekeeper was very friendly and helpful and we also appreciated the quick responses from our host dardo when we communicated with him. If we come back to kastela we will defenatly stay there again.

  • Only meters away from the sea, it's clean, comfy, and comes with good service and responsiveness from both Dardo and Tea. Thanks again! Will definitely do this again :)

  • Our stay in the yellow room was last minute and unexpected, but ended up being one of our favorite stops on our trip. The town itself is charming and this home lets you experience it all. The view is exactly as pictured, just beautiful. You are just a minute walk to the store, a great beach, and 2 really good restaurants. The apartment itself is small but has everything you need - a/c works extremely well, as does the hot water. The house keeper lived nearby and she is full of information! It is a bit hard to get wifi in the apartment, but if you walk a minute up the street, there is a patio where you can get a beer and connect to wifi. Overall, we loved this little apartment and loved this little down. If deciding, do not skip it!

  • We had a great time on our trip! The house is very charming and the village feels local and not as crowded with tourists like you may see on the big islands for example.

We did have an incident with a festival (acapella music) right outside the house (literally) during our three first days, and although it was nice with music and people, I do not recommend to stay in the Yellow room during the festival.

But, as the good host Dardo is, he helped us with solving this issue so we could stay one floor up during these days. Both Dardo and Tea have been very helpful!

The apartment is small but practical. You have all you need and it is so close to the beach, the location is great! I highly recommend talking a walk through all the kastel villages on the coast towards Trogir. If you go all the way it's a long walk but you can just go and grab the bus if you get tired of walking.

Looking forward to my next Croatia visit!

  • The apartment was really nice and clean. We felt comfortable right away. Although it is not particularly large, you do not feel cramped. It's also great that you've actually everything around you: a beautiful beach, good restaurants and a small supermarket.
It was also really nice to start each day with breakfast by the sea.
I can really recommend Dardio and Tea!

  • This place was amazing. The photos are very accurate. The place is small but really perfect for 2 people and you are right on the water. The studio was lovely. The bed was comfortable, the table and chairs were great for reading and playing cards, the bathroom was small but worked for what you use a bathroom for. We never attempted to cook but the pots, pans, plates and utensils are there- you just need to provide cooking oil, etc. there was a great little table and bench outside that we enjoyed using to have a drink and look out at the sea. It was very quiet and peaceful. There is TV inside but with the view you have there was no reason to turn it on.

Ms Tea, who works with Dardo met us the night we arrived. She was so kind and welcoming and we are sad we didn't have a chance to hang with her more. She showed us around her Kastela and gave us great recommendations. She lives very close so if anything was needed she could either be there or answer you
Right away. She also helped to call a car rental agency and offered to help us with anything else we needed. She also helped us extend out stay an extra night because we weren't ready to leave.

The Kastela area is so nice and removed from the craziness of the more touristy towns of Trogir and Split. There was also no need to have a car here because the bus was very reliable, cheap and safe and the bus drivers were always open to give us help. After visiting the beaches in Split after our beach day in the Kastelas we were disappointed because the beaches in front of where we were staying we so much better and more beautiful.

Lastly, when booking the place, Dardo was so quick
To respond to all of my questions. This was my first experience using AirBnB and because of the services provided by Dardo and Ms Tea, we will continue.

  • Dardo's place was easy to find, well situated and had great views across the sea. it was lovely to be among the locals. Beach was very close with great restaurants close by.the flat was spotlessly clean and compact.
