--NEAR SUBURBS: San Lorenzo and Il Pigneto--
From my place, you can easily walk to the two hottest new areas of the city where you find a lot of young people and thousands of fun locals and parties on the streets.
Have a walk here, to get a different point of view of Rome, to enjoy a delicious aperitif, a tasty dinner, an amazing concert, a good movie, or just people watching.
We had a great time staying at Carlotta's great apartment. She was super accommodating and lovely while we were staying there. Also the area is so great, as it's away from the 'tourist trap' areas of Rome as well as being in the middle between Pignetto and central Rome where all the sites are. So with being able to get around all of Rome with those two points in mind quite easily, while seeing TRUE Roman lifestyle around where you're staying, what more would you want? Plus being close to train and bus stops, it was very easy to jump on and off the Metro to get around town!
Carlota is a very nice person... we had few problems with internet and TV but she has been very helpful and willing to resolve our problems... She's left us a very warm "welcome" gift with a "guide" of what to do in Rome, where to eat, what to see... it was an unforgettable experience!
I had one of my best Airbnb experiences staying at Carlotta's apartment. We rented the entire apartment for two people. I got to experience what it felt like to live a day in the life of a local living in Rome.
It's in a great location and neighbourhood (metro station and a grocery store is just down the street). Her apartment was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. It felt like home. Carlotta was very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. She was a great host.
Unfortunately we could not get the wifi working in her apartment during our stay (probably just a fluke, she assured us that it's never been a problem). Carlotta was out of town, but was nice enough to offer to pay for us to use the Internet Cafe conveniently just downstairs. Protip: If you stand near the living room window, you might be able to connect to an unsecured wifi network from a neighbour ;)
I highly recommend this place.
