Tucked away between Waterloo and Clapham, off the busy A3, Kennington is one of south London’s most surprising areas. Once home to Charlie Chaplin and Vincent Van Gogh, Kennington was highly sought after in Georgian London before falling into decline. In recent years, it has re-emerged as a south London property hotspot. A sure sign of Kennington’s newly found popularity lies in the emergence of a well supported café culture along Kennington’s High Street.
Kennington station is only 3 min away. Bus stops are just across the street.
Kennington locals have the choice of three tube stations. On the Northern Line, Kennington and Oval stations are both in Zone 2. Nearby Lambeth North is on the Bakerloo Line and is in Zone 1.
The area is extremely well connected by local bus routes. Buses include the 3 (to Piccadilly Circus), the 59 to King’s Cross, the 133 (to Liverpool Street), the 159 (to Paddington) and the 415 to Elephant & Castle

It was a lovely house in a central location. Close to shops and train station as well as the city, could see the London eye from the street.
This was a a great place in a nice central location. We had a group of 8 including 5 kids and it was a perfect set up. The neighborhood is convenient to two tube locations and there is a supermarket right around the corner. Also, some nice restaurants within a few blocks. The terrace was also great. We had a family style dinner there one night. I would definitely stay again. Great communication from Matthew and Irma was very helpful when we checked in.
We 4 ladies stayed 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. The apartment had comfortable beds and everything we needed. We were met by Irma who helped us get situated. It should be noted that the apartment consists of 3 floors. This means there are 3 sets of stairs, for those for whom that might matter.
This apartment was fantastic for our family of 6. The local area had all of the amenities that you could ask for with the Kennington tube just a short walk away along with a supermarket and variety of restaurants close by.
The apartment is very close to all the major attractions of London with easy access via the two branches if the Northern Line of the tube. The apartment was both spacious and fully equipped with everything that a family could need. The beds were so comfortable and it was lovely to wake up to a beautiful view of the Shard each morning from the bedroom windows. The lovely deck off the kitchen made for a wonderful space to enjoy a meal as a family on the warm evenings.
Our host Matthew and the property manager Irma were fantastic from the time if booking to meeting and greeting us.
This is a wonderful apartment that you should definitely consider if visiting London.
Really nice flat with some cool art hanging on the walls, it could probably use a bigger table. The area is ok, maybe not great, but it´s close to two tube station and within reach of the center and the river.
