About this listing
Charming open space in the middle of Navigli, the net of canals designed by Leonardo Da Vinci.
Close to subway which connects you to railway stations (Centrale and Garibaldi), and to airtrain (Cadorna), and few minutes biking to the central square, Piazza del Duomo, the apartment, designed by Claudio Poli, has modern design and functionality, in a tipical milanese building, on the canal.
Night life in Naviglio Grande is quite gentle, differently from the close "beer canal", Naviglio Pavese.
Despite of dimentions (it's a miniloft, very well designed by Architect Claudio Poli, Professor at Politecnico di Milano), you feel like travelling (email hidden), open and free, (email hidden), vertical and orizontal labyrinth made of boxes, or Lego bricks.
So, going to sleep is like playing a game. On the top of the castle.
So many little bugs to be fixed, step by step, shouldn't be a real obstacle for a pleasant stay...!
The apartment is for the guests, complitly.

Third time at the place. Love the place and the location. Clean and with a host that is very responsive.
Irina was great.
She held my booking as promised, even when another booking came along later that spanned my reserved spot. She met me out front at the appointed time, walked me through the place to give me the ins and outs and gave me a great suggestion for dinner in the area along with some other useful directions (Metro, grocery store etc.).
The space is basic in its amenities and suited my needs perfectly. At the price Irina is offering it is a real bargain, especially considering its prime location.
The area is incredible. Coming from a cold climate country it was just amazing to see the sheer number of patios along Navigli, and the outdoor nightlife that goes along with it. It was great to see the thousands of people out every evening enjoying the food and drink along the canal. The patios were also very convenient during the day for lunch and breakfast.
Despite the level of activity in the area after dark I was never disturbed to kept awake due to noise. The space faces a courtyard and is well insulated from the commotion along the canal.
I was there for design week in Milan. Navigli is very close to Tortona, a popular design week destination, but also another very popular area for night life.
The location is also ideal for exploring the greater city. It's a 2 minute walk to the Metro stop. It's only a few stops away from the busy Cadorna Metro station that connects to other transit lines that criss-cross the city to destinations like the Duomo, The Tiennale and the Rho Fiera.
Many thanks Irina.
I would recommend this location to anyone who wants to have a very good stay in Milano at a reasonable price. First of all, the hostess, Irina, is a very nice person to deal with. Secondly, the location. It's in walking distance from Centro Storico and less than 5 min to go to Porta Genova transport hub (metro, tram terminus, train station). Navigli is perhaps the most vibrant district of Milano which at the same time retained the feel of a "classic" Italian town (atypically for Milano). Lots of bars / cafes / good restaurants (Le Vigne, Al Pont de Ferr) around. One of the food outlets is situated right in the ground floor where you can have a very good pizza daytime and an "aperitivo" (food for the price of a cocktail) in the evening. Plus a bakery with a fantastic focaccia on the left hand from the entrance. And finally the apartment which turned out to be bigger than I expected and has literally everything that you might need during your stay. Despite the vibrant nightlife of Naviglio Grande the apt is very quiet since the windows face the courtyard. I couldn't ask for more.
Irina was a wonderful hostess, she expected us at the apartment and showed us everything. The neighborhood is amazing, full of little bars, restaurants and vintage shops, and a block away from a subway station.
The apartment itself was comfortable, it had everything you need, including a lot of food.
I'd definitely recommend it!!
Irina is really sweet and nice host that I feel really appreciated! Moreover, the location of the house is awesome that so many nice restaurants and bars are just right there.(Mainly local Milan people are there so it's awesome) Home itself is also very nice with good heating systems and clean and modern atmosphere. When I saw the all the kitchen utensils and foods for breakfast, I really got touched. Absolutely recommendable for your staying in Milan!! Thank you Irina for such a warm welcoming and letting me staying at your lovely place! :)
