Beautiful house, wonderful setting. Amazing pool. Everything you need for a great holiday. And more.
If there is heaven on earth, this place is very close to it! Lovely villa, decorated and furnished with style - luxury, but in a very warm and cosy way. In spite of our fairly late arrival, Alessia picked us up from the village, welcomed us warmly and showed around the house and garden (or maybe it can even be called a farm). All correspondence before our arrival, starting from the date of reservation, was always quick and friendly, and all all wishes were fulfilled. So, if you want to experience Italian countryside, with flock of sheep passing the house every morning and evening, have great meals in the village restaurants (especially Ristorante degli Angeli is worth visiting), this is your place!
Thank you one more time, Alessia!
Alessia made us feel very welcome. I think her house is better than the photos suggest. It is spacious and finished to a high quality with beautiful interior design ornaments and furniture. Every detail has been considered - it feels like it should be in the pages of a glossy interiors magazine. The gardens are stunning - well kept and mature (some of the photos seem to be from before the garden was planted, but it is fully developed now). We loved hanging out at the pool area. The pool is lovely with a wooden deck, sun beds and sun umbrellas. There is a lovely selection of movies and a great selection of toys for our kids. Alessia also spoilt us with fresh eggs, zuchini, olive oil and tomatoes from the garden - Delicious! I was working remotely from this house and the internet speed was great - the best I've had in Italy. Lastly and importantly, THE VIEWS ARE STUNNING!!! 180 degrees from the top of a hill - you could not ask for more.
Alessa was fantastic. We were cought up in a train strike and she arranged to fetch us from a remote station. Many thanks for that.
Photos don't describe this property well enough. It is absolutely wonderful. Every last detail is thought through. The bathrooms are impressive, the kitchen is a typical Italian style, and the grounds are breathtaking. We had a great 3 days but would have liked to stay longer.
Thank you Ben and Sofia. We worked hard and with love on the interior and it is great to host guests that understand and appreciate enjoying the property. Happy to welcome you again in the Villas or somehwere else. As for the supermarket.....yes...but that's the nice side also....:) We can always have somebody bring you something you need. Have a great summer, Gabriele and Alessia
The description "Luxury Spacious Country Villa" is right on spot! We spent 10 days at Alessia's magnificient Villa on July. We were warmly welcomed and the place was thoroughly introduced eventhough it was late night.
Alessia's Villa is really beautiful and spacious, the interior is stylishly designed and there is everything one could need during the stay. Our family consists of two adults and 3 children (ages between 7-14) so we had more than enough space, the place could easily host another family as well.
The environment of the Villa is beautiful as well and the view towards Monte Soratte straight from a postcard. A nice surpise was a private football field behind the Villa, all of our kids play football so the field was the second best place in the yard. The best place was the swimming pool where we spent quite a lot of time during the stay.
The location of the Villa is a bit remote so a car is needed for getting around. With a car one can easily visit lovely small villages nearby as well as make day trips for instance to Tuscany as we did. Rome on the other hand was easier to visit by driving to Orte an taking a train from there.
This is a beautiful country house in large landscaped gardens with a good sized swimming pool, and great scenery, just as described by the owner. We had a few trips out to nearby places of interest , but in fact would have been quite happy to stay at the house and by the pool. It was very relaxing.
We, a family of six, from 23 to 89, just spent a wonderful week in Villa Ghiande e Ghirlande. The house is magnificent! Beautiful interior by Alessia: the pictures show it as it actual is. Four comfortabel, spacious bedrooms with good beds. The kitchen is great to cook a real Italian meal. The garden is also beautiful with several comfortabel corners to relax, sunbath, enjoy the swimmingpool, eat outdoors in the shade or drink a cup of coffee in the loggia. Everywhere you look you enjoy the endless and peaceful landscape.
A car is a must, because of the remote location. Nearest shopping is 10 minutes by car. Roads are winding and dark by night.
Twice we went to Rome, once by car (to Orte) and train (from Orte to Rome central station) and once by car; it took us both times 1 1/2 hour to get there.
We followed Alessia's suggestions for dining out in 2 restaurants: Restaurant degli Angeli and restaurant la Pergola, both were good, our favorite was degli Angeli.
Alessia's service was great: before our visit every question was answered and some specific needs were arranged perfectly. (groceries, handmade birthdaycake, filling the pool although not yet the season) We we're warmly welcomed, although due to our flight it was almost night. Alessia also gave us interesting information about the neighbourhood and showed us herself where to buy special local food and where to go for interesting touristic places and sights.
If you love a spacious countryhouse in a peaceful and quiet Italian atmosphere in the hills of rural Lazio this is a great place!

About the Host, Alessia
I am an italian architect who loves to combine interior design and landscaping. I believe there should be harmony between humans, architecture, landscaping and our environment on earth. Following this philosophy I created Villa Ghiande e Ghirlande together with my five children. It is our paradise in nature to relax, invite friends for homemade pasta, enjoy life and keep alive the creativity I need for new projects.
