A paddler's and nature lover's dream. Two acres with direct easy access to the Santa Fe river and a private park next door. A porch, covered patio and brick fire pit provide ample space to chill out. Two tandem and two single kayaks are provided for use from the property. Guests also have access to private river front parks on the Ichetucknee. Good accessibility features. Fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grills help fuel your adventures. Unforgettable star gazing and sunsets.

The space
The space is private and relaxing! The three bedroom two bath house is located in a large clearing on a two acre lot surrounded by mature oak, holly, hickory and southern magnolia trees complete with resurrection ferns, air plants, beard lichen and Spanish moss. Enjoy the fair weather from the porch or under the covered patio. Dining outdoors is easy with both charcoal and propane grills located next to the patio. A picnic table and comfortable outdoor furniture is provided including a hammock. The fire pit is convenient to the patio as well. Outdoor lighting allows guests to use these areas into the evening. Or turn the lights off and gaze at the stars. Accessibility features include level parking, level path to entry and four steps to entry, a shower stall with tile seat and a portable shower chair. More adventurous guests can easily launch provided kayaks (2 tandem and 2 single) from the property along the canal bank to paddle up the canal or into the river. In addition to the many bird species observed and heard (woodpeckers, herons, barred owls, Osecola turkeys) mullet regularly jump in the Santa Fe River and manatees are present in the winter. Due to the private neighborhood park along one property boundary and a canal along another there is only one close neighbor. Since this property is just off the river on a canal on a shallow stretch of the Santa Fe it is subject to less noise from boaters and recreational watercraft. Stay and play or stay and chill out - your choice!

Guest access
The entire property is available for use. Kayaks are for use from the property only unless prior permission is obtained.

Other things to note
This is an excellent spot to enjoy nature. There is wifi and mobile phone service and the Hideaway has one TV with a DVD player or bring your own streaming service. This rental is not appropriate for people who prefer to be 'plugged in' and streaming multiple devices simultaneously. It is also not the place to bring a group together for a large party. In fact, excessive noise and large social gatherings are prohibited.

Location

Fort White, Florida, United States

This is a quiet rural neighborhood. Many of the properties in the neighborhood are family vacation homes. The neighborhood roads are dirt but they are regularly graded and in good condition. Driving to the Hideaway you will pass goat farms, cattle ranches and pine plantations. The property has the feel of a remote location however services and food are readily available in Fort White and High Springs (10 and 20 minutes away respectively) and I-75 is 20 minutes away.
