The space
The Buffalo Farm is proud to introduce BLACKbird, our biggest and most versatile overnight rental accommodation yet. One that offers an appealing getaway for couples or families – but quickly converts for groups up to 10 and even into a lovely venue for small events, workshops, elopements and micro weddings. Scraping the Northern Ontario sky, BLACKbird stands 35 feet tall, and 40 feet wide. She is bold, lovingly open and the perfect space to create meaningful memories with your family and friends, offering our guests an opportunity to reconnect with each other and with nature in a truly authentic way.

COVID -19 has had a tremendous impact on all of us. In some ways tearing us apart. In other ways, allowing us to refocus the very things in our life that matter to us most. We invite you to BLACKbird to experience and celebrate those things that matter to you. Because they do matter.

BLACKbird is an open-concept space with a loft for cozy winter sleeping, a sitting area around a wood burning stove, its own kitchen and bath with shower – all ready in time for you to enjoy its wrap-around winter wonderland. On the northern cusp of Algonquin Park, she is much inspired by the Beatles song, Blackbird: simple beauty, a less-is-more approach to design and a deep respect for nature.

Other features include an 18-foot ceiling, elegant lighting to complement your special event decor, five surrounding windows looking over farm pastures, crystal clear running water, a shower, hiking and snowshoeing and cross country skiing on site.

Top tourism attractions are within minutes: Algonquin Park North, the hiking trails of Samuel De Champlain Park and the stunning Eau Claire Gorge, the second longest ski run in Ontario (Antoine Mountain), horseback riding, highly regarded restaurants, catering services and hotels. As well as Algonquin North Outfitters- your one-stop shop for canoe rentals, kayak rentals, paddle boards and more.

We strongly recommend hiking the eau Claire gorge, visiting Samuel de Champlain park, visiting Mattawa. Eating Thai food at the voyager inn or having a home cooked meal at the dinner bell.
