Jean has been really kind and, apart from some troubles in finding the house, everything went smooth and perfect. She was awesome in giving us suggestions about where to eat in town and where to go. Breakfast was perfect to start the day in the best way. I really recommend her.
We drove to the house and it is near the downtown of Inverness. The house is a cozy and clean place for visiters who want to travel the Highland. The owner, Jean, is a nice lady who told us useful info for traveling to Inverness and Skye.
Hi ChiChou, Thank you for the review, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, and were comfortable in that room. As regards the renewal of towels etc, I'dont usually enter guests room after they have checked in if they are only staying one or two nights unless they specifically ask me to , and of course fresh towels etc are always available on request. Guests who stay longer have everything in their room replenished half way through their stay.
We only had one night in Inverness, but Jean was the quintessential host. She was pleasant, informative and happy to have a chat/provide advice about nearby attractions. The B&B is a little way out of the city, but that was no problem for us as we had a car.
The beds were super comfortable, the shower was hot and had good water pressure, and I personally loved the fresh fruit Jean provided in the morning with the continental breakfast.
The only thing I would say for serious non-smokers is that while the accommodation is listed as non-smoking, there are parts of the non-guest areas where smoking is clearly allowed. It's not a big deal, but if you have asthma or other allergies, or you're extremely sensitive to this kind of thing it might be a problem.
HI Liz Thank you for your review. and we are glad you enjoyed your stay, the room and breakfast. as regards smoking areas , whilst guest areas of the house and all the bedrooms are non smoking as advertised , there are areas outside the house for guest who do smoke and our own private area to smoke ,.We do however try our best to accommodate all guests who stay with us with varying requirements.
We are a family with 4 persons (2 parents and 2 sons). We utilized the small family room with a large bed and a double decker bed for the sons.
The room was small but comfortable. No kitchen, but continental breakfast. Wifi was available.
The place is on the hills, slightly a distance from Inverness, but the city centre was easily accessible for us by car.
A good and quiet place to stay.
We had a great night staying with Jean. She was easy to chat to and found information about opening times for us and recommended places to eat. The room we had was large and comfortable.
