A stone's throw from the Whanganui River and walkways. A short walk to cafes, arts precinct, and city centre. An Edwardian Cottage that caters for today's needs.

Our aim is to provide you with a very comfortable stay - Two queen size large bedrooms, two bathrooms, comfortable living room, smart TV, WiFi, convenient kitchen, dining space, large covered deck overlooking the private garden.

The exterior of the Cottage is currently being painted. Disturbance to guests will be kept to a minimum.

The space
Two large bedrooms with quality and comfortable queen size beds dressed in quality linen. Bedroom one has an en suite, a good-sized workspace, and walk-in wardrobe with luggage rack. Bedroom two has a rack wardrobe system, a good-sized workspace, and luggage rack. The pillows on the bed are a medium level of softness, but there is also a pair of softer pillows on the wardrobe shelf.

Both bedrooms have a heater that can be adjusted for your comfort. Oil filled Delonghi heater with thermostat and timer.

A goodnight sleep is so important when travelling away from home. We hope you have a brilliant nights sleep at Riverwalk Cottage.

The living room is comfortably set up with quality furnishings. An Italian leather sofa and a leather club chair. A Samsung smart TV for your down time with your Netflix account or Free-view on Demand. A selection of books for your pleasure during your stay, including the complete works of Agatha Christie to dip into. A heating and cooling system for your comfort (a wall mounted heat pump - or split system AC unit.)

The kitchen is set up with quality appliances, ceramic hob, under bench oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster. The cottage has all the crockery and cutlery you should need, but please let us know if we have omitted any essentials for your stay.

The dining area off the kitchen opens out to a covered deck via a ranch-slider for alfresco dining and enjoying the outlook over the back garden.

There are many great options for eating out or for grabbing take ways in Whanganui. But, at times, it is pleasant to prepare or at least heat up your own food and relax in your own space.

We provide a range of continental breakfast items, bread, jam, butter, cereals, etc. to help with the start of the day. In addition, we stock a range of coffee and tea items.

There is a super fast WiFi broadband internet facility. This will ensure your connectivity.

The central bathroom has shower, toilet, vanity, and a washing machine available for your use. Clothesline is in the back yard. Airing rack is on the deck.

Where you’ll be

Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand

This charming Edwardian cottage is situated in the beating heart of the most beautiful city in New Zealand and, consequently, all the world. Whanganui is often spoken of as the Paris of the South Pacific.

The cottage is right on the edge of the arts and commercial precinct of Whanganui. It's just steps away from the iconic river. You can just rest on the seat overlooking the river and watch it flow and admire the historic river boats. It can be busy out on the street at times (not Auckland busy). Yet very safe and secure. There's a Police Station at the top of the road.

You are a short walk from most of the galleries, cafes, and shops. Just walk the neighborhood to admire the early buildings of Whanganui. Some still awaiting restoration. Or rest in the historic Moutoa gardens.
