About this listing
Nice quiet apartment in the heart of Trastevere. 1 bedroom + 1studio/bedroom (sofa bed). Trastevere is the best area to stay in Rome, full of life, attractions and pizzerias/restaurants. Next to the building there's a playground for children.
This great apartment is located very centrally in the district of Trastevere, on Via Luigi Santini. The property is located on the 2nd floor of a historic building with elevator. It is comprised of a living room with sofas, dining room, double bedroom, studio with a desk and a computer, modern, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with bathtub and shower. The area (Trastevere) is one of the nicest of the centre and it's famous for its fascinating ancient streets and the great choice of traditional restaurants and lively cafes. Supermarkets, groceries, open air market are all at close walking distance.
Next to the apartment there’s an open-air food market, plenty of supermarkets, gourmet foodstores and one of Rome’s greatest street food takeout shop.
For families with kids there’s an open-air playground on the square 100 meters from the apartment.
The neighbourhood is very safe. It is convenient for public transportation and you would get very quickly and easily everywhere. It is also pleasant to walk to the main sites of interest, as you would cross many nice places in the ancient centre. From the Gianicolo hill (500 meters from the apartment) you can enjoy a magnificent view of Rome.

Be nice to the apartment and avoid big and noisy parties...
The house was even better than how described and appeared on the picture. In the heart of Trastevere (but just those 3 minutes away from the screaming crowd that make the difference) it is super cozy and accessorized; should you consider renting a vehicle there's plenty of parking. Piero was a great host and his suggestions on where to eat/drink were much appreciated even by some local friends of ours. TOP NOTCH experience. Ciao Piero, ci vediamo presto!
My wife and I had an amazing stay in Piero's Trastevere apartment! Everything was wonderful and accurate just as described in the listing. The location/neighborhood was perfect for exploring all of Rome's sites. We enjoyed an hour long visit with Piero and received great advice for local restaurants etc. Piero was a great host, nice guy, and has a beautiful apartment. We would definitely stay there again if we ever got the chance to visit Rome again! I highly recommend this apartment and Piero!
Piero could not have been nicer or more accommodating. He and his friend, Simone, were available via email, text, etc, for any questions or situations. Piero's apartment is very nice, clean and spacious.
I LOVE the location of Piero's apartment. The neighborhood is not very touristy and it is full of great restaurants and cafes. Across the street is an incredible boulangerie and there is a very charming farmer's market in the square a block away.
I recommend booking with Piero for your visit to Rome.
Piero was a great host and immediately made me and my family feel very welcome in the apartment and in Trastevere. He spent time showing us around the apartment and gave us plenty of tips for local places to eat as well as a map. He was always contactable and did a great job arranging airport transfers for us.
We absolutely loved the area and would definitely come back again. The apartment is perfectly located. It is genuinely quiet and very comfortable with an excellent collection of books too. There are local shops on the doorstep where you can pick up all the basics - milk, fresh fruit, breakfast pastries, pizza by the slice and even freshly made pasta. There's also an amazing artisan gelateria just around the corner too (Fatamorgana - the flavours are amazing!). My 2 daughters absolutely loved the playground at the end of the street and played there everyday. The area feels really safe with lots of local families around. There are plenty of places to eat at in the evening and the real bustle of Trastevere is just a 5 minute walk away.
This was our first city break with kids and they loved Rome. A lot of walking for little legs but we took the odd taxi and this proved good value. We were able to walk to the Centro Storico with the kids from the apartment slowly but still it only took 30 minutes or so. We visited mid-April so the weather was perfect for walking and sightseeing. So much for kids to see in Rome - they loved the Colosseum (although we skipped the Palatine Hills and the Forum) and also all the fountains.
I would definitely recommend this apartment as a great base for exploring Rome for families!
heel fijn appartement in Trastevere. Piero was erg vriendelijk en had een aantal leuke tips. Het appartement is midden in Trastevere maar heel erg rustig. Prima!
Piero's correspondence regarding this booking was always prompt and very helpful.
Trastevere is a lovely neighbourhood to stay in! Piero sent some valuble information regarding shops, restaurants etc. in the surrounding area. Our two favorite spots were Augusto's restaurant and the 'Ombre Rosse' bar.
The apartment itself was a real quiet haven in a big and busy city. Piero was unfortunately not there to welcome us personally, due to a trip to India. However, he communicated all of this to us in time, and supplied a stand-in host who did the job perfectly!
Paulo, the (stand-in), was there on time when we arrived, and informed us about everything in and around the apartment that we needed to know. He also offered some good advice on how to get around in Rome by train and tram. We had no problems settling in.
The apartment was well appointed and very neat and clean.
We were also supplied with basic items like soap, sjampoo and toiletpaper.
The kitchen is properly equipped and clean.
The bathroom is a spacious and pleasant space. Everything works.
We loved the 'retro' decor and the incredible collection of travel and other intresting books. A veritable library!
Piero also sorted out our transfer back to the airport. The shuttle arrived on time and there were no problems.
Booking this apartment definitely made our stay in Rome most pleasant!
