I reserve the flat for the new year 2013 with a friend and I have few comments to say:
- the flat is in a building where one of the 2 windows of the sitting room and the window of the big bedroom just confine with an open cemetry (no walls around!!!!!!). So if you look down from the windows you will see a lots of graves and the tombs are just attached to the wall of the building!! So it could hurt quite a lot to be such near a cemetry. Of course that depends from different sensibilities&culture. My friend for example was pretty shocked. We wrote a report with photos.
- the window of the double bedroom face a collapsed shack.
- there was a lack of cleanness in the flat and a very bad smell from the kitchen that spread in all the flat. I sent an email with photos and description to Evrim and she sent us a cleaner for 2 hours that did a good job so the flat, after the cleaning, had a normal smell and was clean. Evrim kindly offered us the cleaning. So we appreciate that.
Just an information for the people landing in SABIHA (S.Goeckce) airport: on internet you can find transfer with nice and comfortable executive cars at good prices!! For example booking in internet we payed for the trasnfer FLAT> SABIHA airport the fee of 50 euro.
But when we land on Sabiha (we did not know about the good prices in internet) they ask (for the SAME TRANSFER) 110 euro (more than the double!!!) and after a bargain there was a discount of 30 euro... (80 euro) but still 30 euro more than what we pay coming back!!!
My family of 6 stayed for 6 days in this apartment, and had a wonderful time. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are excellent, and the view of the bridge is beautiful. Unfortunately the sofa bed was very uncomfortable, but since this is an apartment recommended for 4 people that shouldn't normally be a problem. The apartment is set on a steep hill, and a little out of the city centre. This means it has stunning views and is very peaceful, but difficult to get to and from without either lots of energy or a taxi. Evrim answered all my questions about the flat honestly and patiently, she was an excellent host and her help was much appreciated.
The Airbnb Team was lucky to have stayed with Evrim. She was absolutely wonderful and one of the warmest people we have ever met. She had homemade goodies in the fridge and the place was very cozy with a terrific view. She was also super helpful in saving the day when we got ourselves into a pickle! We can't wait to go back :)
Evrim's apartment was perfect for our stay. My wife and I came to Istanbul with my brother and his wife for a week. The apartment was in a great location close to the waterfront and to the nice town of Etiler. We came because my daughter is studying at Bogazici University for the semester and it was very close to the university as well. The apartment was extremely clean and comfortable. Evrim was very helpful and even though her kitchen was well stocked with utensils she was more than willing to bring us any item we thought of. Very few cons, the heating was hard to figure out and we were cold for the first night but she helped us fix it in the morning. Also it's on the third floor with only a spiral staircase so carrying bags up was difficult but overall a great experience would love to go back and I would recommend this place to anyone!
