I had such a great time in San Miguel. The apartment was perfect for me and I loved the location only being one block from the market and very close to the centro. The apartment was very nice, clean and as discribed in the posting. I am hoping to be back in San Miguel later this year and I would definately stay at the apartment again.
I can't write a review without mentioning David and Barbara (living at the complex), they were very helpful getting me settled in and familiar with the city.
The downside was a broken front door bell and no one to welcome us and show us in. We had to rely on the neighbors who were very helpful. The apartment was as advertised, bright and colorful with ample storage space and was Exceptionally quiet.
I love this place! It looks just like the photos. In a peaceful garden setting, there is plenty of natural light, fresh air, storage space, and everything I need to feel comfortably at home. Perfect location! 2-minute flat walk to the best fruit, vegetable and flower markets, and the artisans' market. Jardin (main square) is an 8-minute walk. The maid, gardener, and neighbors are friendly and ready to help if needed. I have stayed in many different areas of this town, and this is by far my favorite place, for all of these reasons.
We arrived later than expected, we found the keys left for us in the door making our late arrival no problem. Loved the bright large space, great for two people. Enough dishes & cutlery that we were able to accommodate dinner guests! Which gave us a genuine home-away-from-home experience.
Centrally located, a wonderful safe, secure, quiet neighbourhood with a large market as well as many artisans at the end of the street. Easy access to buses and taxi's.
We loved the brightness of the room! Being on the second floor the east facing windows and foliage greeted us every morning!
Loved the garden and being able to just sit and hear the birds.
The street had many small shops as well as home style restaurants. There were the most wonderful parades down our street! It really made us feel we were part of the neighbourhood.
