The original of the three buses, and still the one with the biggest deck. A school bus rebuilt by hand into a tiny home, parked where the Guanacaste hills drop away and the sunsets run long. Sleeps 3, dogs welcome, and it costs the least of the three. Full kitchen, hot rain shower, Wi-Fi, self check-in at any hour. An easy stop between Liberia airport and La Fortuna — most guests wish they'd booked two nights.
The space
🌅 The deck is the whole point
A big furnished outdoor deck facing the Guanacaste hills, with nothing built between you and the horizon. It's where you eat breakfast, where you read all afternoon, and where you'll be standing when the sun goes down. This is the one bus without a plunge pool — the deck is the trade, and it's a good one.
🚌 A bus, rebuilt properly
This was a school bus. Your host — an industrial designer trained in New York and Italy — rebuilt it into a tiny home and made every piece of furniture by hand in his woodshop. Guanacaste hardwood, warm timber ceilings, nothing off a shelf.
🛌 Sleep
Queen bed with hotel-grade linens plus sofa beds, so there's room for three. This is the only one of the buses that sleeps more than a couple.
🐕 Dogs welcome
One dog is welcome, and with no plunge pool on this bus there's nothing to keep them away from. Open grass to sit on and hills to walk. Let us know in advance so we have everything ready for them.
🍳 Kitchen
Full kitchen: induction stove, fridge, French press, Costa Rican coffee. There's an honesty box on the property stocked with local yogurt, eggs, bagels, craft beer, snacks and handmade pieces — take what you like, note it down, settle up before you go.
🚿 Bathroom
Rain shower, hot water, thick towels, and the toothbrush you forgot.
💻 Work, if you must
Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace. Plenty of guests work full weeks from here.

The other two buses sit further along the same hillside with their own separate areas, so please stay within yours; they'll usually have guests too. Self check-in with a keypad, so you can arrive whenever your day allows.

It's remote, and that's the point. There are a handful of restaurants 10–20 minutes away and a basic grocery store 5 km down the road, so most guests stock up on the way in and then don't move for two days.
You're in the middle of a valley, which means nature turns up. There are screens on every opening and bug spray provided, but the occasional curious insect is part of the deal.
One dog is welcome. Please keep them off the beds and take them with you if you head out for the day.
The woodshop where all the furniture was built is nearby. You may hear light daytime activity from it — it's kept minimal, and the buses are well insulated.
The road is paved the whole way, so any car will do.

You're on a hillside above the Guanacaste valley, and the quiet is the whole reason people come. Lake Arenal is 20 minutes away, Río Celeste about an hour and a half, and the road is paved the entire way to the door.
There are a handful of restaurants 10–20 minutes out and a basic grocery store 5 km down the road, so most guests stock up on the way in. If you'd rather not shop at all, there's an honesty box on the property with local yogurt, eggs, bagels, coffee, craft beer and snacks — take what you like, note it down and settle up before you leave.

I was born and raised in Costa Rica. I moved to New York for University where I graduated from Pratt Institute with a degree in Industrial Design. I worked designing high end custom made furniture in Soho NYC. I then moved to Italy to get my masters degree in Industrial design for Architecture . After 3 years living in Philippines and 10 years abroad I relocated to Sabalito de Tierras Morenas, Guanacaste Costa Rica, where my family owns a dairy farm. It is here where I set up my own high end furniture line Bernardo Urbina Design. I see myself as a relaxed, chill drama free person who like to enjoy life. I treat others as I want to be treated.
