Helen and Richard's granny flat was quite luxurious accommodation at the destination for my recent road trip with the kids to Queensland, providing us with happy holiday memories - the boys' of swimming in the pool in a lush tropical garden while mine are of reading by the pool.
The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and space so I could save money by cooking plus the air con was useful for a quick chill down in the humid early evenings.
We used this lovely space as a base for a trip to the Australia Zoo and Helen was especially helpful with her local knowledge, giving directions and warm chats. We all loved taking some of the kindly offered frozen pilchards to feed the friendly pelicans at the nearby coast.
Thanks for everything, Helen and Richard!
Thanks to Richard & Helen for letting their private unit to us all. We arrived with an extra unexpected guest but Ricjard & Helen were most accommodating. The unit had all that we needed, even down to a beach umbrella &
Chilly bin. A lot of food items were left to help with cooking various dishes. Colundra was a great place to be based to explore sunshine coast, glass house mountains & Australia zoo.
Thanks for providing that for our family.
Richard and Helen were very welcoming hosts and Little Mountain was a delightful place to stay. It is very private, and the access to their backyard pool was very appreciated on those steamy summer days. We were thoughtfully provided with everything needed for breakfast on the first morning of our stay. In fact, just about everything is provided as though you were in your own home. We stayed while visiting Woodford Folk Festival daily, so didn't spend much time there, but it was a very welcome retreat to return to at the end of each day.
It was a pleasure to stay at Richard's house, he and his family are very friendly and welcoming making my family and I feel at home even though we stayed only overnight. Everything was clean and tidy, the house is beautiful and very confortable, we were welcome to use many facilities including laundry and barbecue. The neighbourhood was quiet and peaceful. It was a pity we only stayed for one night.
We hightly reccomend the stay at Richard's house!
My husband Bill and I had a short but wonderful time in Caloundra and we very much enjoyed our accommodation at Richard and Helen's. Everything was wonderful including some fresh supplies in the fridge and cupboard. We would certainly stay there again.
A great place to stay. Richard and Helen are very helpful and unbelievably friendly making you feel right at home. It was only a short trip by car to Kings Beach and shopping precinct. Location provides a great center point to access all the popular Sunshine Coast towns and attractions.

I am originally from New Zealand and my wife Helen is from the UK. We have lived in Caloundra for the last 30 years so this is well and truly home. We both enjoy travel, meeting fellow Travellers and discussing all the adventures and places that Travellers enjoy.
I work running my own business and Helen is a nurse at a local aged care facility.
Our other interests include our 1963 Ford Thunderbird which is great for a bit of weekend cruising. We also enjoy a little amateur Astronomy and given a nice clear evening I can be encouraged to get out the telescope for a bit of stargazing.
Good food, a glass of wine and good friends always make for an enjoyable time so why not come and join us, we'd love to have you stay.
