The Estate Bed & Breakfast

Bed & Breakfast - Private room · Mandi Road, Mehrauli, New Delhi, Delhi 110030, India

The Space

About the property
Its beautifully designed, and has spacious and well–appointed rooms appropriate for corporate accommodations, weekend getaways, conferences , medical tourists & foreign visitors alike

All around you and from every balcony, the views are of lush greenery. The rooms are equipped with a mini fridge, spring mattresses, hair dryer in the bathroom .

Our Estate B&B is the perfect mix of every material comfort along with a more homely vibe, which keeps things informal and casual. The living area downstairs is perfect for some rest & relaxation, as is the small library near by – full of great books.

The garden overlooking your room is also a nice hang out area – with a hammock and a swing to while away the time. We also arrange to get masseurs to your room to get you whatever spa treatment you would like.

In India, the idea of a B&B is a little different from Europe. Here, the rooms are separate from the owner’s home and you get all your meals – not just breakfast!

The owner is also the trustee of a non-profit organisation called MAGIC, and a small cut from your bill goes towards this charity for the uplift of the girl child.

  • This was a delightful place to stay. The staff were very pleasant & willing to serve us from the moment we arrived. The room was spacious &every comfortable. We loved especially the little roof garden outside our room as we needed to relax & read during the following day before our onward flight to the USA. The food was abundant & very enjoyable - both breakfast & lunch. We have asked if we might stay again on our return journey in 3 weeks time. The water could have been hotter as the temperature of the bath was not as enjoyable as I would have hoped!

  • We stayed at the Estate in January 2014 for one night. Our room was at the top of the guest house, with a small grassed courtyard. The room itself was spacious, well appointed, and nicely decorated, and the shower was good. A generous breakfast was served in the dining room.
The location of the Estate means it is not easy to walk or use public transport - you will need to use drivers, which the staff will easily arrange. The Estate is also very handy to the airport - we were departing India from Delhi, and arrived at the airport in excellent time. (A word of warning - if you are leaving from Delhi on an international flight, you will need to be at the airport in good time - while we thought we might have time for duty free shopping, clearing security took approximately an hour, due to the extremely long queues.)

  • We had a fantastic time at Mamta's gorgeous home! Though we could meet Mamta and Chetan only for a short time, but they made sure that we had everything to settle comfortably and feel at home!

Their home is conveniently located and has good connectivity. The best part for me is that it was far enough out of the city to feel really relaxed and yet close enough to reach the city center quickly.

The overall experience was 5 star. Thumbs up!

About
When running a Bed & Breakfast in Delhi was quite an unheard of thing, Mamta decided to undertake such a project. Coming from a hospitality back ground and having spent 15 years in the Indian hotel industry, her vision was to create an alternative accommodation option which would prove to be a different experience for the foreign visitor to India. A "non-hotel" experience with the basics of a comfortable hotel. Combining the pros of living in a hotel, with the charm of seeing the Indian way of living from close quarters; required using her experience, education and the keen insight developed through extensive international travel. The right balance emerged in the shape of The Estate Bed & Breakfast. As a daughter of an officer of the Indian Army, Mamta had the opportunity to travel widely along with her parents. Professional education included Mass Communication courses from University of Houston, Hotel Management Course from India and a BA English Honours Degree. An effective communicator along with a warm hospitable persona makes her a memorable hostess as we see from the many reviews written by her guests on her website. Mamta & her family have opened their home & hearts to many travelers from the outside world and have taken the standards of service set for a BNB's much higher by the attention to detail & quality awareness standards.
