  • This apartment is adorable! The rooms and beds are cozy, the kitchen and bathroom are fully equipped and larger than we thought they would be. We really couldn't ask for anything more! Its location is just perfect! In the heart of Alfama and walking distance from Lisbon's historic center.
Emanuela and her husband were fantastic hosts, very welcoming and available.

  • Fantastic! Emanuela was extremely helpful letting us know how everything worked and where things were. We had plenty of helpful information sent to us before our arrival as well as once we were there. The apartment was clean and had everything you would need. Wifi worked great. Can't say enough, great apartment, neighborhood and host. Thank you for making our travels a bit easier.

  • Emanuela was polite, she suggested well on lisbon and in his house we loved. My little girl has played a lot with all the toys that we did find. The apartment is located in a central area, we visited the city by walking. everything was great!

  • This was an amazing stay, in the heart of Alfama, the oldest part of Lisbon! Ema was a fantastic host. She and her husband helped me get from the airport to their apt, wo getting hijacked by a rogue taxi driver. Wo her help, I would have paid double. She and her husband were waiting for me, even though my plane had been delayed. The apt was spotless, well appointed ( pics are very accurate) and had everything I needed for an easy stay. Be warned that the steps down to the street are not for the feint of heart- this is alfama, the old city, so stairs were very steep but manageable. I was given a tour of the area in their car a
As well as suggestions as to where to get groceries, eat and , best of all, see fado!! I took them up on every suggestion and was thrilled with each one. The best was their favorite fado place, kind of a Lisbon Cheers- but with fado! For the price of a drink, I spent 2 lovely nights listening to fado and neighbors cheering each other on to perform. Perfect in every way!! Ema was extremely responsive , from my first contact til the end. I was unaware that I could not check in online and got worried; ema helped save the day; she had her neighbor , a taxi driver, pick me up early to deal with it. I could not have asked for a better experience and really feel that the suggestions I was given gave me a truly authentic look at Lisbon. Thank you ema, u are the best!!!

  • Nice and cozy apartment in a little street. Near the center, the market and supermarket. We enjoy our trip in Lisboa.
And Emma help us with good advices about places to visit and others useful informations !

  • Emanuela has a really nice and cute flat in the really typical district of Lisboa.
Unfortunately, we could not meet them but his father in law came to bring us the key and explain to us, how to deal with the keys ;)

Also, she has lots of maps, tips and so on and so forth to help us to visit the city. And we exchange some mails to set all of the "rules" of the house! For example, she was really kind to us, and let us come before the usual entry time and leave really early on the morning !

  • If you are staying in Lisbon - stay with Emanuela! We had great communication, a wonderful warm welcome and excellent advice on where to go/what to see and eat. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the Alfama district and had a very authentic feel. The apartment was homely with all you could need. The kitchen is so well stocked we were able to cook a meal in the apartment. Emanuela thinks of everything you could need while away from home - she is a delightful host and ready to respond to any need. We couldn't recommend this apartment more highly!

    January 2014
  • The flat is really nice, in the very old part of town, so expect no modern stuff like central heating or dishwasher, just an incomparable atmosphere and really steep stairs! The hosts are really welcoming and with an eye for the small but important details, like providing toys for our baby girl and booking a taxi for us on check out.
Thanks again for the wonderful time we spent in Lisboa!
    Highly recommended!!!

About
We are young couple in mid thirties, and we have four year old son André. I am originally from Belgrade, Serbia, and my husband Rui is from Lisbon, Portugal. Both of us are professionals in areas that don't have much in common with tourism: he runs a small construction company and I used to work for many years as a theatre and tv producer in Belgrade. However, in a lack of job in Portugal, we've decided to start a business about which we didn't know much at the time, but we had a good will and lot of good ideas to make it work out. We started renting one apartment in the oldest district of Lisbon - Alfama, and it turns out that we really enjoy doing it. Lisbon is so called "city break" town, and many tourists stay inhere only for a few days. The result was meeting new people from all over the world, sharing stories from here and there, learning and having fun. When I came to live inhere, I used to walk a lot, discovering Lisbon and it's hidden sides. Today, I adore sharing these secrets and giving tips that our guests can't find easily in tourist guides. However, the key isn't only in our hands, but in Alfama itself: cobblestone streets and alleys, old buildings and in a way of life which gives you an impression that you are in the medieval village, but yet, in the middle of the town. Later on, another opportunity popped up: we've found one small apartment in a great place at the entrance to Alfama, right in front of National Pantheon. The apartment was in a very bad shape, but we've put Rui's knowledge of renovation into work, and a bit of my taste in arrangements. Now, it is a great small studio full of light, situated in one of the most beautiful places in Lisbon. Other than this, we are a couple like many others: we adore travelling, good music, cinema and theater, even staring to our favorite tv series. We love animals, especially dogs, and we are learning how to be a kid again with a help of our son...
