Too many (good) things to say about Lindsay (and his yacht) to put on one small page:
1. Lindsay is a fantastic host, generous, interested, smart, well-travelled, a joy to be with;
2. He never looks like a salty dog (even after a long day behind the wheel);
3. The yacht is comfy, Lindsay's food and wine yummy, the experience well worth writing home about;
4. Our stay was pure bliss and we hope for continued friendship.
Lindsay we can describe as the perfect host in an exceptional location and in a perfect and very special environment; a truly unique experience which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had two very pleasant evenings with Lindsay helped by his great wealth of experiences and knowledge both of wines and the local area - and an excellent cook! The facilities on-shore by way of showers and loos were perfect and parking nearby very easy. This is a very different and thoroughly recommended stay - many thanks.
Really enjoyed our time with Lindsay
The yacht is as described and Lindsay is a very welcoming host.
He is a good cook and has exceptional knowledge of wine. We were lucky enough to go out with him on his weekly yacht club race
Lindsey made us most welcome. The boat was comfortable and he cooked beautifully for us on both nights of our stay. He was full of good stories and dropped us into town so that we could catch the bus to the Ireland vs West Indies cricket match.
He played a big part in making our visit to Nelson so enjoyable.
Staying on Lindsays Yacht was a unique and wonderful experience. He is a great cook and served first class wines with the food. With loads of interesting informations about the local winerys and about sailing in general. I had a outstanding time on the WD2. The marina is modern with a clean and comfortable bathroom. I'd love to come back to this place one of these days!
Fabulous and unique stay in Nelson! My husband and I have been travelling through NZ on our honeymoon and booked 2 nights with Lindsay on his yacht. We had such an amazing stay and would highly recommend this for anyone looking for somewhere unique and a true local experience. To us this is what Air BnB is all about!
Lindsay and a wonderful host, very warm and friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him about everything from wine (which he is an expert in!) to his days in Hong Kong to his favourite places in NZ and around the world. He has some amazing stories and will keep you thoroughly entertained while feeding you delicious food and wine.
The yacht itself is very cosy and has everything you would need really - the showers are a short walk up the pier and very clean and comfortable.
Highly recommended and we hope to be back one day!
He cooks, he cleans, he knows good wine! Staying with Lindsay on his boat was a unique experience and his stories and knowledge will keep you entertained. He greeted me with a bottle of wine at the ready and watching the sun set past the harbour with a glass of wine was a great way to end the day in Nelson. I stayed two nights and they passed by all too quickly. Highly recommend this fantastic host and one of a kind accommodations.
