Hello, dear travelers and friends!
I will welcome you with great pleasure in my house in Sousse, beautiful city by the coast of Tunisia.
The house offers 3 bedrooms, each one has its own balcony, and all with air con and heating.
We will share the common areas of the house, such as the main kitchen, home's heart, the living room and dining room, where we can enjoy nice discussions and relaxing moments around a sweet Tunisian tea or a traditional Turkish coffee.
The offer is breakfast included, however I can also prepare lunch and diner upon request. Extra meals cost 10€/meal.
I will cook you typical Tunisian dishes, as well as French, or Mediterranean, depending on your tastes!
Moreover, I can also organize cooking lessons, to teach you how to prepare the Tunisian dishes you enjoy the most, and then amaze your friends back home! Do not hesitate to contact me for more information about it.
Internet access is available, and there is also wifi connection in the house.
For travelers with a car, it is possible to leave your car in the garage, please inform me in advance about it.
For disabled people, an elevator is available in the house for your comfort.
The house is 5min drive from the old town, the Medina, and 10min from the beach.
The city of Monastir is 20km away from here.
I can arrange airport pick up service for Monastir International Airport and Enfidha International airport for 20dt (10€).
If you need any othre information about anything, please feel free to contact me!
Hope to meet you soon, at Home!
My husband and I don't usually (email hidden), but for our short trip to Sousse, we thought it would be a great way to connect with locals. We also hoped to get advice on the area as Sousse would be our launching point for a day trip to El Jem and Kairouan. Dar Omi did not disappoint! Rabaa is the consummate host -- truly old-world hospitality at its best -- and in addition to being a kind, fun-loving, and funny person. We also felt very secure and taken care of in a way that's hard to describe, and that we appreciated immensely.
And yes, you should do dinner at her house, which we did both nights. General thoughts and observations about Dar Omi dinner: 1) it's a terrific culinary, cultural, and social experience, 2) the etiquette style was French, 3) it's probably better if you speak or understand at least a teensy bit of French (the language thing applies to visiting any country), though Rabaa is learning English and is also a terrific French instructor, as it turns out!
Rabaa and her daughter have us a really warm welcome and made efforts far beyond what you would usually expect. They live up to the name they gave their place. You immediately feel home.
All the rooms were as described and depicted in the photos. Important for Tunisia everything was spotlessly clean!
Do not miss to take the option to have dinner! You will be rewarded with wonderful conversation and excellent Tunisian cooking! We loved every minute of it!
Rabaa is the perfect Arab host making the guest feel at home
her hospitality made the trip much more enjoyable
she and her daughter always there guiding and answering questions with best solutions
i will defiantly consider staying here on my next trip to souse Tunisia
Rabba and her daughters are very nice and friendly. We couldn't find the way to the house and Rabba came out to pick up us. We also met some friends from different countries during our stay. We enjoy our stay with Rabba very much.
Rabaa's is a very special place, and anyone who happens upon it will be lucky to have the opportunity to spend time there. Aside from the pleasure of lodging in a clean and lovely home, the host is a very cultivated and gentile person, offering the kind of gracious hospitality rarely encountered in this day and age.
I very much enjoyed my stay there and would be sure to stay there anytime I find myself again in Sousse--and might likely make the trip just to go there again.
Merci! As soon as I get in Dar Omi, I knew that my stay will be one absolutely warmfull. Rabaa and her daughters made me feel like I was part of the family. They were also very helpfull and gave me good advices in term of places to see in Sousse, what to do in the cities nearby (Monastir, Mahdia, El Jem, Kairouan) and wich transport to use. My stay at Dar Omi was one of my highlights in Tunisia. Thank you!
I can only say good things about our stay at Rabaa's home.
Communication with both Rabaa and her daughter Mariem are super quick and very helpful. They gave us plenty of tips (train schedules, places to visit, etc) before we even got there.
Once you get to Rabaa's place you feel at home straight away. Our room was exactly how we expected, very clean and roomier than we had imagined.
And the best thing, a part from the company, is the food. A part from breakfast that is included and very copious and delicious, Rabaa's dinners are amazing, she is a great cook and makes sure you taste as many Tunisian specialities as possible. They will be the best meals you have in Tunisia!
Getting around in Sousse without a car is very easy. Taxis are very cheap, you have trains to different towns in the area and you have louage (which are communal taxis with a set price) that get you anywhere you want to visit.
Thank you Rabaa and the rest of the family, we really enjoyed our stay, and had the full on tunisian life experience.
