About Chez JJ:
We're a hacker house for traveling entrepreneurs and makers. Here, you can get integrated into the SF Bay Area hacker community! Yay!!
IMPORTANT: if you are not an itinerant hacker / entrepreneur / designer, you had better be some kind of amazingly interesting person who still has something useful to contribute to the conversation. Please don't write me if you're just here to see the sights.
This is the room with 2 bunk beds (4 spots total). Having fewer people to share the room with is a draw for some people. (Although to be honest, if you have a preference for which room you stay in, you should probably write that in your e-mail)
-Internet and wifi!
-Laundry on site

I had a good time at Sasha's house meeting some interesting people, sharing stories and going out.
The living room has an amazing view of the hills round Eureka Valley! Lovely view to have while working on your mac or pc.
I had a great time during my stay at chez jj. Sasha is a fun and thoughtful host, and there is a constant stream of interesting people coming and going. If you are looking for lots of personal space and a luxurious bed, then chez jj is not for you; chez jj is all about community, meeting new people, and the freedom of a flexible stay.
I stayed at Sasha’s place for almost a month. I met a bunch of smart and fun people. I’m willing to do it again on my next time in San Francisco.
P.S. persimmons grown in south California by Sasha’s relatives is the best I’ve ever had.
ChezJJ was a bit quiet when I turned up in November, but I had stuff I wanted to do so all was good :) Sasha's a great host, I liked most everyone I met and the mattress was a step up from the hostel I'd last stayed in. I plan to be back.
I didn't get to meet Sasha too much, but the few times I did she was nice. The house is large with lots of light and hardwood floors. Location is good, in a quiet residential area close to all sorts of public transportation to take you anywhere in the city and walking distance from Mission, Haight and Valencia St with their cool shops, bars and cafes. Guests were nice. Only issues was the house was a bit of a mess and it was not clean. There are house rules about keeping things in order and clean, but they are not enforced. Floors were full of dust and hair which stuck to socks since no shoes are allowed in the house, not even indoor sandals. The hall even had dust and hair balls lining the sides. With 10 people in the house at full occupancy, the 2 baths get dirty very quickly, so I would expect a house keeper to come at least one a week to clean thoroughly but never saw one. In about one month baths were never cleaned unless guests took the time to do it, which happened once. Maybe I was unlucky though. Aside from this, it's been a nice stay.
Sasha was great, people were nice -all good. And i`m not even a tech guy!
I wish I had much longer than a week to stay at Chez JJ, a week really isn't enough. The type of people the Chez JJ attracts means you're bound to make some incredible, possibly lifelong connections. I had a few very interesting conversations, one ensuing not ten minutes after I came in. Thanks to another roommate, I found out about events taking place locally I'd likely not have known about otherwise. As far as the room and accomodations? Sasha makes breakfast cereal available, and on one night another roommate was making gumbo. Of course I wanted to go out to eat , and Sasha had great recommendations there as well. The room is a room, it has bunkbeds and enough space for everyones clothes and bags. There was so much to do, by the time I came in I was exhausted, and the bed well served its purpose as a place to sleep. A warm comforter and clean sheets were provided. My roommates were great and everyone kept to themselves when needed, and invited great conversation at other times. I miss it already.
Great first AirBnb experience! Welcoming stay at Chez JJ, met some great people too. Would recommend it to any hacker visiting SF.
