  • This room was really nice, clean and simple. Realllly close to the station, restaurants and shops! the place was hard to find at first and ended up walking all the way up the top but it's actually really close to the train station. We recommend this bnb :-)

  • although my friend and i spent just one night at manuela's place we had a really lovely time. we were pleasantly surprised because the room was nicer than we were expecting. very clean, comfortable bed, nice shower. Also the apartment is just a 5minute walk from the manarola station. very easy to find. Manuela was lovely as was her father. she recommended where to eat to us and it was the best meal we had in italy. Although we had to check out at 10am they let us keep our luggage in their apartment until we were ready t
o leave town. We fully recommend Ca de Gianchi and we will definitely stay there again next time we are in italy.

    thanks manuela!

  • We didn't get to meet Manuela but her father met us at the door and welcomed us in. He was very nice and gave us a restaurant suggestion for dinner which was probably the best food my girlfriend and I had in Italy. The room was very clean and the location was excellent. We would come back again.

  • Sergio welcomed me and the apartment was very easy to find. It is well located close to the train station and when I arrived I discovered that due to a mix up in bookings I would be getting the whole apartment not the single room I had booked which was a bonus. Manarola is a very pretty town and is less touristy than the other towns. The apartment is clean and tidy and has everything you need.

Unfortunately after going to sleep I woke up to discovered that the main bedroom had a bad case of bed bugs. I realise this can happen to any hotel and Sergio and Manuela have been informed and will hopefully call an exterminator in to deal with this asap. They were very apologetic and provided me with a prompt refund. Once this issue has been dealt with, the apartment will again be a practical and affordable place to stay.

  • The host could not speak very good english, but he was always very kind and helpful. The room is comparable to any high quality hostel, and it is incredibly quiet.

  • The room was small, but it was very clean and well kept. Sergio was quite nice and helpful in recommending hikes and places to eat in the area. It was a very enjoyable trip, and we enjoyed Manarola quite a bit.

  • Manuela & Sergio were very nice hosts. Only a room & ensuite - no access to kitchen or washer. Although hosts very kindly lent us bowls and spoons for breakfast. Wifi is very limited: only works spontaneously for 5 min at a time. Manarola is the perfect little town: our fav of the 5 towns. Do the harder walks over the mountains to each town rather than the easier, coastal walks. Much better views!

  • I am giving 3 stars because the bathroom was quite nice. I never did see Manuela (as previous reviewers has commented) and her father met me and showed me around. He wanted my payment which I had already made thru AirBnB. That was a little stressful. The location was fine - everything in the 5terre is small and convenient so it is difficult to be far from anything. The room was small but adequate.

  • Sergio was a wonderful host. BnB was clean and well located just a few minutes from the Manarola (one of my fav towns) train station.

  • Sergio made us feel very welcome on arrival, and offered good advice for eating locally. He is very proud of his village and Cinque Terre. The room was modern, clean, and tidy, and we had a good sleep in the comfortable bed. We only stayed one night, but wish it could have been longer.
The train station is only a short walk from the apartment, and makes it very easy to explore the area.
