Interaction with Guests
We are usually around, but leave it up to our guests as to how much interaction they want. It is great to meet so many interesting travelers.
This is the best of a beautiful old tree lined neighborhood, that is only twenty minutes walk to Downtown.
We're on the Yale shuttle line and the public bus runs by every 10 minutes. Both buses will get you downtown in 10 minutes. We also have bicycles that guests can use, we walk or ride almost everywhere.
Other Things to Note
We love that we can walk to our local market, wine shop, and coffee shop.
No smoking inside. Quiet conduct after hours.
This is a wonderful, cozy and nicely decorated apartment within a really striking house. Due to my hectic schedule I didn't get to meet Truman, but he had everything ready and included a lot of little extras too, including croissants, coffee, juice, etc. I wish I had had more time just to enjoy the place, because the apartment has a really nice feel to it.
Great experience. I needed rest and quiet and that is what I found here.
The listing was extremely accurate. Truman was very responsive and accessible via texting. The room was small but well equipped with all our needs.
My girlfriend Daniela and I stayed at Truman's apartment for a weekend. Before and during the trip the communication with Truman couldn't have been easier and nicer. The apartment was very clean and welcoming. There was coffee, tea, juices and baking goods providing for a nice breakfast!
I can only highly recommend Truman's Apartment to anyone staying in New Haven, its super quiet at night and you are at Yale in no time. Truman will for sure be the first person to contact whenever we come back to New Haven!
It was a very pleasant and perfect stay. The place was as described in the profile and the host had left coffee, fruits, bagel,.. for breakfast. Truman responded promptly for my texts with any questions . Even though my trip happened to be during a snow storm weekend, the sidewalk and space for parking my car was still cleaned to walk/park. Thanks to Truman! The neighborhood was safe and very close to Yale campus. I would here stay again if I go back to New Haven.
The apartment is on a quiet street in the East rock neighborhood with very good connections to bus routes to get you downtown and in close vicinity of several small supermarkets. There was a nice little bouquet of greens, some bread, water, juices etc to make you feel at home. The apartment is tiny but very cozy and comfortable with all the necessities there to prepare basic meals. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and helped me out on different occasions. Overall I can only highly recommend this place.
Even with New Haven temperatures in the teens, we were very cozy during our stay in Truman’s Air BnB. Obviously well thought out and cared for, our apartment had everything we could ask for, including a very comfortable, firm bed – a big plus. We were within easy walking distance of The Peabody Museum, Yale Law School, Yale Art Gallery as well as many fantastic coffee shops (Blue State, Coffee Pedaler, Maison Mathis, Book Trader Café, Atticus) and places to sample famous New Haven pizza. The apartment is in a lovely home and in a neighborhood of lovely homes. We look forward to returning when the weather is nicer and strolling round the neighborhood. For now, we could not be more impressed with our hosts’ attention to the comfort of their guests, their flexibility in late arrivals, and the ease with which they set up the reservation process.

I'm a designer, inventor, engineer and builder and I enjoy fixing-up and renovating homes. My family and I enjoy our good friends, food and drink and occasional travel. I own and manage the-up-keep on a few apartments locally, and I'm always looking for the next fixer-upper! We are also involved with the Yale community, and enjoy our urban / suburban lifestyle here in little New Haven.
