We had a wonderful stay in Jimmy's apartment. It was clean and organized and had everything we needed. The apartment is in a great location and close to the bus line. Jimmy and Jacobo were quick to communicate with us on anything we needed and even set up the car service to pick us up from the airport. The terrace was a real treat and the views of Rome were amazing. I would highly recommend Jimmy's penthouse for a wonderful vacation in Rome.
The pictures on the website are misleading. The main bathroom is terrible, we were unable to use it all all, the bath is appalling, its stained black! it needs to be replaced or resurfaced. The toilet is leaking onto the floor and the taps are filthy! I rented this apt because we wanted to have two bathrooms but we ended up with six of us using just one. Also the towels and sheets are very worn out and need to be replaced. Some of them are stained. In general the place needs to be refreshed. It could be lovely, there's lots of space, the majority of the furniture is really nice and there are some nice artwork on the walls. The terrace is large and perfect for a sunny day, however the plants are dying and neglected. The manager Jacobo emailed me to say we couldn't check in until 7pm but after I objected to that he brought it back to 3 and said we could drop off our bags earlier. The cleaning staff were just finishing up at 12.30 when we arrived so they called him and he came with the keys. He didn't even introduce himself to me! when we pointed out the state of the bathroom he didn't seem to care. Then he said our check out time would be 9am! Be aware that you cannot walk to the Vatican from here, you must take a bus or their is a metro not that far away. I would advise anyone coming from the airport to take either the shuttle or train and the metro as the taxis are a total rip off. Rome itself was wonderful and the people very friendly and this could be a beautiful apt if it was fixed up. It's generally neglected with a mish mash of personal possessions in the kitchen drawers and cabinets. It's just not set up correctly for the rental market.
Thank you for the review that is always useful to improve the accommodation offered and to resolve problems for future guests.
I would however like to point out the following:
The review is misleading as it makes one believe that the photos does not match with the real, whereas the description of the apartment is exact (you only have to read all the positive reviews).
I would also like to point out that we many excellent reviews, shortly before your stay, which I think demonstrates that your review is too negative.
It is of course my intention that my guests are happy and contented during their stay, and for this reason there is a person who is always available for any problem during the stay, contactable by mobile phone or email. All emails before your stay were responded to promptly, but no mention of any problem was made during the stay.
Now the bathrooms work perfectly, towels and sheets have been replaced and also the terrace now has got new plants. We hope you can come to stay again, and see for yourselves the improvements made.
We have enjoyed our stay in Rome. The apartment was as promised very large and there was plenty of room for the four of us. There are two bathrooms and that is convenient when traveling more people. There is some noise from the large street in front of the apartment, so we were not as much as we expected on the terrace. We were expecting a quieter neighborhood, but in the four days we were in Rome we were still all sorts of other places, so it was perfectly fine. We got good tips for excellent local restaurants. It's the best thing about Airbnb. Jacopo offered us a friendly welcome and we were not uncertain about anything when he left us.
We stayed in Jimmy's appartment and were very happy. The communication was easy and good, the appartment was very big, clean and tidy. Definitely coming back!
Our family of 5 adults stayed here in July for 2 weeks. The apartment
is very large, which was great for us. Three large bedrooms along with 2 dining areas, separate kitchen, living room area, terrace and 2 bathrooms.
The location worked well for us. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Metro, and then about a 10-15 minute ride to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Termini station etc.The bus stop is right in front of the apartment and it's a fairly short ride to the Vatican.
The apartment is in residential area with several restaurants and groceries nearby, so it was no problem getting groceries or a quick bite to eat in the neighborhood.
It was fairly hot when we were there. There are 2 air conditioners in the apartment (master bedroom and living room) but you could not run them both at the same time. The apartment is on a busy street so the traffic noise was an issue if we left windows open for ventilation. But, we really appreciated the size and amenities of the apartment so just had to deal with the heat.
Overall, we had a great time. I would definitely recommend the apartment for any family visiting Rome for more than a few days.
Jacopo was helpful and was quick to respond to any questions we had.
