Excelente. Giancarlo tiene un trato muy bueno, el lugar es limpio y agradable. Gracias por todo man.
The hostal ICAWASI is a perfect place to stay in ICA. Yan and his brother Giancarlo are fantastic hosts. I was picked up at the bus station and Yan accompanied me when a I had to leave. The hostal is only some blocks away from the busses Cruz del Sur. The room was basic, but very clean and quiet, everything was quiet new. Yan gave me a map with all explanations necessary to get around in Ica. In the afternoon he took me to a Bodega where they produce Pisco. The next morning I went on an organized trip to the Ballestras Islands which I can highly recommend (70/s. including the boat trip)! Yan and Ginacarlo are really kind and helpful. I think it is difficult to find better options if you want to stay in ICA. I would have liked to spend some more days because everything was so familiar.
La maison est propre,et bien située. Les propriétaires, Giancarlo et son frère sont disponibles à nos besoins. Séjour très agréable à Ica. Merci
Giancarlo was a fantastic host the whole weekend- from coming to pick us up from the bus station, to taking us to a local place for lunch and to being flexible about our checkout time. He speaks English well and was eager to get to know us and tell us all about the area and his experiences. We also were able to arrange a lot of our tours to Nazca, Paracas and in/around Ica with him and he made sure that we were getting to see everything in the area during our short stay. Booking the tours through Giancarlo made everything easier for us and his brother accompanied us in the tour bus twice which was really nice. We later realized that we ended up paying almost double what the tours actually cost- but it still may have been worth it, simply for the convenience.
The room and bathrooms themselves were clean and simple and the hostel is located near many restaurants and a short walk from the main market and tourist areas. However, the trade off for being located in the center of town is that there is a lot of noise throughout the night on the street- including blasting club music at 4am, whistles blowing, and cars incessantly honking- so be prepared if you're a light sleeper.
Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend staying at Ica Wasi!
It was not possible to be hosted by Giarcarlo because the bus I was travelling on had problems due to bad weather. Nevertheless, he gave me useful tips and replied to my email very efficiently and quickly
The Hostel is basic but definetly clean. It is not the place to find plenty of other travellers, but Giancarlo was very dedicated to supply us with various regional information. We ended up having a blast on the vinery festival with his peruvian friends.
Breakfast included bread, jam and tea but was decorated with love. Giancarlo is very devoted to his place, relaxed and flexible.
Only one thing about the description how to get there: when you arrive at the station Cruz del Sur, turn right till the crossing at the main street and turn right - the information about the direction Panamerica is insuffient because there is no hint where that is and people seem to answer this question in various opinions.
My husband and I are from New York and we spent 3 nights at Ica Wasi. We had a wonderful time. Giancarlos is a great host - very knowledgeable of Ica and surrounding areas, helpful, warm, outgoing and professional - when our bus arrived late he waited for us for more than an hour, and he gave us a lot of great tips for exploring Ica region. Once we got in the hotel he gave us a personal tour of Ica City which really helped us to explore on our own after the first night. The location is very convenient, it is close to bus stations, mall, parks and a lot of restaurants, but it still manages to be in a safe part of the town. The rooms are new, clean and comfortable, they are well ventilated and has a lot of windows. I would highly recommend Ica Wasi to anybody who goes to Ica region.
This reservation was for my daughter who is traveling in Peru. Giancarlo was at the bus terminal to pick her up even though it is a very short walk to Ica Wasi. She really enjoyed her room, her stay in Ica and Giacarlo's help.
Giancarlo is an enthusiastic guy, who's very proud of his city. He showed us the city and helped us with different things. You can also book different tours with him. We enjoyed our stay !
