Gian's apartment was a good place to stay in Rome. The location is extremely convenient to both the train station and the Colosseum area, in what seems like a very safe building. It was quite spacious and comfortable.
We only had a few small issues with the apartment. One was that there was not a working washer / dryer as listed in the posting (we had packed based on having laundry facilities once a week, so this became a huge hassle when we had to spend time looking for a laundromat). The second was that the air conditioning unit did not work well, so the apartment was quite hot in August.
Besides these two minor issues that only negatively affected our stay based on our purposeful light packing and month of travel, the place suited our needs very well, and I would recommend it.
We stayed there 4 nights: 2 adults, 3 kids. The place is much closed to Coliseum, in a nice, calm building. But the apartment was actually not the one corresponding to the pictures shown on the site. The apartment did not meet the description either: 6/7 persons can sleep this is true, but there are only 2 bedrooms (not 3), no wash machine - it was reported not being available (actually, there is no place to plug it!). Electricity is not safe at all, and we actually did not have electricity during 1, 5 days due to the way it is built (we lot electricity in the evening the first day, and again the half a day the 2nd day). In addition, during 1 day, we had no hot water and toilets were out of order till the end of the 3rd day (they were not settled, water was going all around in the bathroom, and they had to be taken off and repaired). We were helped by the neighbors, who were very nice (actually they are cousins of Gian). Gian answered them while he was neither replying to our voice messages, nor to Airbnb that we had contacted for help. Gian finally contacted us after his cousins had called him several times and Airbnb had started a procedure to find a new location for us. It took 2,5 days to have an apartment in order with electricity, hot water, toilets, and enough forks, knives, chairs, unbroken table, and a pot to warm milk or water (before, we had 2 big pots and a pan, nothing to warm some milk or water for the breakfast, as no oven or microwave was available either). We were told the owner would reimburse us partly the fee, 2 weeks after, still no reimbursement was available. Although the place is very good, I would not recommend this apartment at all! The renter is not trustful, and the apartment’s description and pictures on the site are not true. Gian helped us under pressure of the Airbnb customer department and his neighbors, without them I don't know how it would have evolved. I made a detailed report to Airbnb with pictures to prove everything. This apartment is a mix of brand new equipment and unfinished renovation (bathroom, toilets, electrical sockets are not protected even in the bathroom and the kitchen). By writing my report to Airbnb I discovered that pictures shown on the site are those of another apartment, which looks very likely but in much better conditions as the one we were hosted.
Very good apartment and location. Excellent building and the hosts were also great. Thank you!
Gian communicated well with us regarding check in arrangements and met us shortly after our arrival. The room was as described and is very well located relative to the train station and to scenic attractions. The apartment is central and in a safe area. The only criticism was the air conditioning which had little benefit in the nearby room we slept in. It would be better if the unit was working and situated in the bedroom particularly in the very hot evenings over the summer. Otherwise the room was perfectly fine. Thank you Gian.
We were suprised how lovely flat was it. In center of Rome. Everything were prepared and Gian welcame us kind and friendly. I recomed these acomodation to my friends.
Apartment was great for our needs. The Internet did not work in the apartment but this was not an issue with Gian. Gian was very helpful and was very easy to communicate with over the phone. Great location next to the train station and walking distance to many major sights.
Good location: close to Colosseum and subway station; the distcance to Termini is a little farther than described.
Apartment is as good as described. Gian was very welcoming and responsive. Smooth check-in.
