The Space

My updated condo is a beautiful 1 bedroom duplex in the heart of Washington Square. The kitchen and bathroom have been fully updated and sparkle of granite and stainless steel. Hardwood floors throughout the apartment, a working fireplace, breakfast bar and antique touches add to the charm. Downstairs on the ground floor of the apartment is the bedroom, complete with 2 closets and high-end washer and dryer. The stairs down to the bedroom are a very narrow circular staircase, so you might have to squeeze down :). Also included is Wifi and Cable. There is a 42" TV in the living room, and enough cooking supplies for a very comfortable stay.

The condo is located within Washington Square in Brookline. Washington Square is a safe, culturally diverse, charming neighborhood filled with graduate students, medical professionals, and young professional families.

The condo is a 3 minute walk to the C line and a 7 minute walk to the D line. There is a grocery store one block away, tons of restaurants within a 5 minute walk (Thai, Sushi, American, Pizza, Indian, basically every type of cuisine), numerous coffee shops, wine shops, beauty shops (including nail and hair salons), a 24-hour 7/11, and so much more. The apartment is very accessible to downtown Boston (which is a 20 minute T ride), Coolidge Corner (5 minute T ride) and Cambridge (20 minute bus ride on the 66 bus).

This place is perfect for the conscientious guest who is looking for a peaceful, clean and comfortable place to retreat after an exciting day in one of the best cities in the world. I trust you will love this place and will want to return every time you visit Boston!!!

  • In one of the best neighborhoods in the Boston area, Rupal's apartment is just steps away from the green line that takes you downtown in minutes. Good restaurants at walking distance (try Barcelona and its tapas!) and supermarket.
The apartment was very clean and tidy, great place. you should definitely experience Boston staying in Rupal's place.

  • Darling little apartment that is in the perfect location for everything we needed! My daughter and I stayed for 7 nights in June. The apartment was perfectly big enough for us. It was wonderful having a new washer and dryer for clothing! The apt was extremely close to the "T" and restaurants/coffee shops. We felt very safe walking around the neighborhood. We could never get the keys to open the front main door to the apartment complex, so we just used the downstairs bedroom door to enter and leave. Because suitcases won't fit down the stairs, just bring them in the main front door and keep them upstairs (that's what we did). I read all the reviews about the spiral staircase, and it wasn't until I actually saw it that I suddenly felt claustrophobic. It is a very tight spiral. Watch your head, when I reached the bottom one day, I walked right into one of the steps with my head and another day hit my head on a step while walking up. But, other than the spiral staircase, we loved the stay! Bed was comfy, the weather was not extremely hot. I'm not sure how well the window air conditioner would do in hotter months, it had trouble keeping up one of the warmer days we were there. It even froze over. But, just be sure to not leave the A/C turned on for long periods of time. The grocery store is a few minute walk which was super convenient. Buy a Charlie Pass for $18 to jump on and off the "T" if you will be there for a week like we were. Otto Pizza in Coolidge Corner is AWESOME! Also, the Abbey restaurant right up the block has good food. The Fireplace had super burgers. The Thai restaurant right down the block was also extremely good and fast. The "T" stop closest to the apartment is Tappan (fyi).

  • We have just arrived back in Ireland after a 5 month stay in this lovely apartment and can highly recommend it to everyone looking for a place in Boston. Brookline is a great place to stay-very close to the city centre on the T and lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Supermarket at the end of the road. Could not be better. Rupal is a very gracious host and always responded really quickly to any questions that we had. We were here in the really cold weather and the heating was fantastic. There is a tight spiral staircase to the bedroom but I am no small guy and had no problem with this at all so don't let that put you off. I was working in the Longwood Medical Area and this apartment is only a short walking distance from there so ideal for anyone on a short term visit.
We really recommend this apartment and hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we did.

  • I am very satisfied with my overall experience at Rupal's apartment in Brookline. It was my first experience with Airbnb so I didn't know what to expect, but I am happy to say that I highly recommend it. It is a cheaper and perhaps better alternative to hotels and the best part is the reviews that you are able to read from people have been through the experience. The apartment splits into two floors, the in-house stairs was very tight but I was able to carry my toddler and walk up and down at least once a day. If I had bags to carry it was convenient to use the outside stairs which leads into the room from the basement. I found the door leading to the street from the bedroom also useful as it was closer to the metro and supermarket trips. I had a stroller for my baby so I used the bedroom door to avoid the staircase inside the building. Rupal provided a cleaner contact and that was useful for my stay. I had a two-months stay in Dec. and Jan. when it was freezing cold but the central heating system although old was warm enough. The bedroom was freezing but there were two heaters that warmed up the place pretty nicely. There was also a heater blanket! I could not sleep without it especially during snow storms when it was extremely cold and you needed the warming blanket to warm up. I wouldn't recommend the place if you had a toddler like myself because there were items that were not child friendly, like the tight stairs, the old treasure piece in the bedroom and also the fireplace. We lit up the fireplace twice during my stay but it doesn't really warm up the place. The central heating worked well throughout the two months but it turned off during late nights, so if you stay up late you might find it a bit too cold in the living room. The stairs next to the bedroom could be a little noisy as neighbors walk up and down. The location is great and conveniently located next to a metro stop and many nice restaurants actually and a supermarket. Beacon Street is a nice walk with lovely areas such as Coolidge Corner to explore on foot. Rupal has been great and attentive and highly recommend the place!

  • A comfortable cozy retreat in Brookline for the Thanksgiving weekend. Good access to public transport, and places to eat. I recommend it highly!

  • This is a charming and well located cosy apartment close to the green line "C". We were here for several days for a conference and the apartment was great. The only word of caution, as previous reviews have noted, is the spiral staircase. It is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. My husband certainly found this to be a squeeze both up or down. The Brookline area is a study in historic urbanism, loved the area and a good little supermarket is right at the rail stop.

  • We loved our stay at Rupal's apartment! Her home is in a great location in beautiful Brookline and is close to the T, so it's easy to travel around Boston. The apartment itself is gorgeous! While it has been modernised, the apartment has some original details which are beautiful! Rupal was easy to deal with and very professional.

  • Rupal was really easy to deal with and responded really quickly. We found the apartment to be spacious and comfortable, well fitted out and appointed. We found a few drawbacks though. As others have mentioned that staircase is VERY narrow, I'm over 6' tall and whacked my head a couple of times. Also we couldn't regulate temperature in the flat (controls are outside and locked!), which meant the lounge was baking, and the bedroom downstairs quite cold. Also, the people upstairs did make a lot of noise, and woke us up a couple of mornings.

The area is nice, very safe and pretty, with good restaurants - we really enjoyed The Fireplace. Also Zaftigs Deli at Coolidge corner does amazing breakfasts... The appt is 20-30 mins to get downtown, so need to bear in mind time spent on the T (which is very quick and cheap to use) and be happy to do that.

Overall a good base to explore Boston if you're looking for somewhere a bit out of the city centre...

  • Very nice, spacious place in a nice neighborhood. There are some shops and restaurants in Washington Square (just a block and a half from the place) and dozens of places in Cleveland Circle (a nice 20 minute walk or a quick train ride).

The place was pretty quiet at night but in the morning I could hear neighbors going outside as the bedroom is right next to one of the exits.

Everyone seems to have a comment on the staircase issue so let me say what worked for me: (1) walking very slowly. having it take a minute instead of 30 seconds kept me from hurting myself -- and was a good mindfulness practice; (2) keeping most of my stuff in the upstairs area and only going downstairs to sleep. If you like to hang stuff up in the closet, you might need to use the downstairs a bit more.

  • We enjoyed Rupal's apartment very much. The location is perfect for all we had planned over the weekend. Rupal provided a lovely, clean and comfortable space. We did find the staircase to be quite a challenge since we are quite tall but we made accommodations and truly enjoyed our stay. There are many dining choices nearby as well as a host of extras all within a short walk. (Starbucks, CVS, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Star market, and of course the T).
