Hello. Thank you for looking at my listing.
I have two fully furnished large bedrooms available in my newly remodeled 1900+ sq ft home in San Mateo, CA. (There's an identical listing for the other bedroom on this site. I have to make two separate listings because the calendar can only show availability for one listing each.) The house is in a residential neighborhood with ample parking, 15 miles south of downtown San Francisco. It's about 15-20 minutes drive to SF border, or you can take the bus to Millbrae BART station or walk to the San Mateo or Burlingame CalTrain stations to get to SF, or south bound to Mountain View or Palo Alto. For those days/nights when you want to explore the suburbs, nearby within two miles are downtown Burlingame and downtown San Mateo with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. A little more south are Palo Alto and Silicon Valley. I am also two block from the bay trail where you can go for a run or a bike ride for miles and miles. It is absolutely beautiful and will lighten your spirit. San Mateo is below the fog line so you are almost always guaranteed to see the sun in the summer and most of winter, which is more than you can say about SF.
There is a daybed with trundle in one bedroom and a queen size bed in another. As you can see from the pictures, the entire house is flooded with light. There is wi-fi through out the house. All bathrooms are new and with shower over tub. Towels and linens are available for your convenience. For those guests who are staying for more than a week, washer and dryer are also available for your use. Rentals include utilities and wi-fi.
If you are interested in booking a room but the calendar shows it is unavailable, please check my other listing. The other room may be available.
I frequently travel on business so you may have the whole house to yourself for the entire or part of your stay. I have an indoor cat and a toy poodle dog but the house is immaculate as I have a cleaning service every other week. The cat stays home while the dog goes to a sitter when I travel.
While I welcome tourists and travelers, my house is also perfect as short term rentals for those students who are doing internships in nearby Foster City, Palo Alto or Mountain View. Genentech is even a short drive to the north toward SF.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns that I have not addressed here. I hope you will come and stay with Lulu (dog) and Titi (cat) and me as we love our clean, spacious and beautiful home. But if not, we still wish you a memorable visit to the beautiful and magical Bay Area.

I had wonderful 5 weeks stay at Thi. Her kindness , hospitality exceeded my expections. Very cozy home with lots of privacy and really easy acces to 101 freeway.
I know where I'm staying next time if I need to and I would recommend staying at Thi to everyone.
Thank you Thi.
I spent a week at Thi's gorgeous house. My room was absolutely nice. . I needed a private clean and quiet place, with a good desk and solid wifi to work. I was provided with all of that and beyond. The house is located couple blocks away from the seashore where I enjoyed jogging everyday with California sunshine.
Thi is kind, warm, helpful and very respectful lady. She is also a gorgeous chef! Enjoyed her cookie and crabs :)
I don't think I can recommend it enough. If you are planning a trip to SF this is definitely a good choice.
I don't know where to start. Thi, the host has exceeded my expectations in terms of hospitality, accommodation, and generosity. Even my other half doesn't treat me like this. Kidding aside, Thi, the host is great. On my third day, I was invited to her backyard barbecue get together with her friends. It was fun and yummy. I wanted to know more about a nearby neighborhood. She showed me around and took time to answer my questions. She's not obligated to do this but she did. She went above and beyond to help me navigate the bay area. I'm very fortunate to have her as my host. There are too many intangible things to list that made my stay absolutely wonderful. If you need a place to stay in bay area, she is it.
Thi is a very kind and wonderful host. The room was clean and comfortable and I enjoyed my brief stay Thank you Thi!
Thi was a great host. Communication was very easy with her which was important to me. The privacy of a bathroom next to the bedroom was also a plus. I felt very welcome as a part of the family.
Thi is a wonderful , kind, generous and fun person. She made my stay in her home feel like I was part of her Ohana. Her home is warm, clean and cozy and not far from the ocean, I enjoyed the walks along the bay and to Fred's market !!! If you need a place to stay in San Mateo I highly recommend Thi's place . She is the spirit of Aloha , "A hui hou kakou Me ka `oia`i`o" Tim
Thi was a great hostess. Kind and warm-hearted. Room is spacious and comfortable. The pets only add to the great atmosphere.
I lived here for four weeks and I have to say this stay was excellent. The house is spacious and always clean. It's very near to freeway 101 and San Mateo downtown. The bay is 5 minutes walk-away and I went to there to do morning exercise during weekends. Very beautiful.
Thi is very nice. She helped me with lots of my personal stuff. We had dinner with her friend and her spicy dishes were really good. I used washer and dryer to do laundry. It was just like staying at home. Thanks for hosting me, Thi!
Thi was a fantastic host – very welcoming and hospitable. If you like spicy food you have to try some of her dishes. They were delicious!
This stay was excellent. The location was great. Just a few minutes off the freeway and convenient to the train. The house was clean and neat. As a woman travelling alone, I felt safe and comfortable here.
Thi could not have been a more gracious host. I worked at the house the frist day and we went to lunch together, later in the day she dropped me at the train station. That evening I came home and had not eaten and she heated up some dinner for me. She went above and beyond.
