We stayed as a couple for 3 days. This was my first Airbnb experience so I did not know what to expect.
To summarise the experience: I'm never staying in a hotel again if I can help it :-)
Brilliant location in a quiet but accessible neighbourhood, super friendly hosts (even came over to provide a spare set of keys late night when we lost the originals, no questions asked)
We were received at the boat jetty by Adriano who was super friendly and gave us useful tips. And yes the wine and dessert were really sweet touches.
Valentina's place was perfect for three of us girls sharing for a work trip. Very comfortable, great location, peaceful getaway but perfect easy access to Vaparetto routes. Close to local shops - supermarket, local bakers, fish mongers and fruit and veg. There was everything you need to cook in the apartment, but eating out locally was easy and not too expensive either. Views across to san marco were very special.
It was a personal home full of books and original artworks, big plus points for both along with the fabulous views from every window.
Speedy Wifi. Great family focused neighbourhood, with a friendly feel. If you're travelling with kids - there were always other kids out playing in the courtyards and squares. There's also a little swing park nearby.
We'd all definitely stay there again.
I'll send photos.
The host made us feel welcome. After being met off the vaporetto by the host's husband we were shown to our apartment. It was very clean and in a great location, Giudecca only a short vaporetto away from Piazza San Marco.
Having been given good instructions in advance on how to reach Guidecca by vaporetto, we were met by our host at the stop and escorted to our apartment, about an 5-10 minute walk. We appreciated the full rundown on how everything worked and where we could find what we might need. I found the apartment to be larger than expected, comfortable, and very clean. The photos shown are accurate. It should be noted that the bathroom is quite narrow, and some people might find it difficult to use. We found that staying in Guidecca had a tremendous advantage in offering a getaway from the overwhelming tourist traffic across the canal--very peaceful at night, a 10 minute boat ride to San Marco got us off to a quick start on our sightseeing in the morning and back to peace and quiet when we had had enough. It was also easy to catch a boat going in the other direction toward the train station. Wonderful, quiet neighborhood where you can watch the kids walking to school in the morning and romping at the playground in the afternoon.
This is a great place to stay in Venice. The apartment is lovely. It is clean and comfortable, with everything you might need for a short stay. Giudecca is a peaceful and beautiful island that seems off the radar of many tourists. It has an amazing view on the Zattere, and the crossing takes two minutes on the Vaporetto (which runs all night). My mother arrived before me so I didn't meet the hosts, but she said that check-in was very easy and Adriano made her feel very welcome. They also left us a bottle of prosecco and tart, which was an incredibly kind touch. Before arriving, Valentina kindly responded to my questions. I would definitely stay here again, and wholly recommend this address to anyone looking for a place to stay in Venice !
This spacious apartment is located by a small canal in Giudecca, with easy access from the Vaporetto. The neighborhood is quiet and charming. Valentina and Adriano were extremely helpful and great to deal with, and they made us feel welcome at the flat. We would most definitely recommend staying on the Giudecca island and in this flat to anyone traveling to Venice.
