About this listing
This unique 1 bedroom villa offers a luxurious nest not far from the attractions of the bustling city of Seminyak. Ideal for honeymooners or couple wanting a private space to relax and yet be close to all the happening, shopping and restaurants.
Villa Atlantis is a private 1-bedroom pool villa. It is an exquisite and unique blend between traditional indonesian and modern minimalist design elements, providing a unique luxurious outdoor living experience. The villa is perfect for couples and honeymooners, for everyone looking for a romantic hideaway, close to the famous city life of Seminyak.
The villa is serviced by my very kind father-in-law Made, who with his vast experience in the hotel-business, will make your stay comfortable and easy. Made will clean the villa everyday and serve you daily breakfast. He can also arrange motorbike or car rentals, tours or a romantic dinner. You can also try a balinese cooking class with Made, as he is also a former cook and excellent home chef!
The villa has an infinity overflow pool, a koi fishpond, an open living area with Cable TV, fast Wifi, and a asian-style dining area by the pool and a comfortable minimalist wooden couch. It also has a fully equipped kitchen with bar table.
The bathroom can be reached via steps over a fish pond and follows the bali-concept of semi-outdoor and is filled with feng-shui style pebbles.
Upstairs lies the air-conditioned masterbedroom, with custom made furniture and a king-size bed. In May 2015 I have installed an insulation for the upstairs wall to guarantee more quiteness in the room.
Alot of care has gone into the planning every detail of the villa. It uses shingle roofing to preserve the natural look of the house. The garden area exudes a very cozy and tropical feeling and the pool is perfect to cool down during the hot hours or for a swim in the evening.

Interaction with Guests
I am mostly living in Bali and if you would like to try a spiritual healing session I will be happy to come to the villa. Otherwise my father-in-law Made will be taking care of you - he is a great host!
The villa lies just a few minutes drive from Seminyak's main attractions, but luckily lies in a relaxed, quiet and safe area. There is parking space provided.
It is best to get around by taxi or motorbike. Both can be arranged easily and at a cheap cost.
General house rules apply to this house, like maintaining the property in a reasonably clean state and reducing noise after 10pm. Further than that, I do not want to tell you what you can and can't do ;-) Please only use the parking space provided, and if you need more space temporarily get the consent of the respective owner first. Smoking is fine in the downstair area, as it is open plan, but please adhere from smoking in the bedroom.
I enjoyed my stay here, although it was just for a night. The interior design and furniture is wonderful and created a very tranquil environment. Good for escaping the hectic roads of Bali. The swimming pool was my favourite part of the villa, its so inviting and the caretaker was quite helpful. Overall, two thumbs up.
My boyfriend and i had an amazing time staying at Daniel's villa for 3 nights. Daniel was prompt and helpful in his replies. Made, the caretaker of the villa, also took great care of us as well as the place. The villa is, as shown in the pictures, beautiful and clean. The bed awaited us with clean and fresh bedsheets every night and ensured a comfy sleep ahead. One thing to take note is that (as mentioned in the previous reviews) we were too a little affected by the sound of the roosters on our first night. We had a good sleep for the last two nights though, because we were drained from the activities (cycling, rafting and a lot of walking) in the day. Nevertheless, the place is a mere 10-15 mins walk to shops and restaurants! Overall, the villa was a place both of us could relax and fully immerse in nature. I will definitely recommend to my friends heading to bali. Thank you Daniel for having us!
We stayed in Daniels villa for a couple of days in the middle of July. Everything was like on the picture and very clean. It is a little bit outside, so you have to take a taxi to go somewhere (but these are pretty cheap). With the provided phone(with 10k credit) we got we were able to order taxis to the villa. If there is a point to complain about then is it the rooster which is living on area next door and is going to wake you every morning at around 5:30. Oh, I almost forgot: there is like a butler who is making breakfast every morning and cleaning the villa. He will also help you with your plans or bookings! He is super friendly and helpful!
Thanks alot for the kind feeback Lars!
I am happy that you had a good time staying at the villa. Also thanks for mentioning the roosters, I have just recently installed a wall insulation on the upper stairs bedroom, but it seems to not be enough. I will look into a solution shortly to improve this situation.
Thanks and regards from Made as well!
Before we arrived, Daniel was very responsive and helpful, and arranged an airport pickup. When we arrived, the usual manager was not there so we checked in with Daniel's driver who was very nice but didn't know a lot of details about the place. The villa, garden and pool are stunning and private, just like the photos. The bed was comfortable, the AC in the bedroom worked, all the plumbing worked well, although you should be prepared for very steep, open stairs to the bedrooom. The open living room looking out at the pool is a delightful place to relax and hang out. We have only two real things that were not what we expected. The first is to make sure you carefully look at the location. It was much further from town and not really a walking possibility to town, nor are there bikes. The other was that Made, Daniel's manager, spends at least 2-3 hours (from breakfast to essentially lunch time) there each day. We were looking for more privacy and this is a little intrusive. Overall this place is beautiful as long as you know what you are getting into.
thanks for the good feedback!
Made is usually very flexible and you can speak to him about what time you want to have breakfast/cleaning done - or if you didnt need it at all that would have been fine, you could have just told him. Sorry if there was miscommunication about this.
As for the location, its only 5 minutes by cab or motorbike into town, and i know that its not walking distance (never mentioned in the description). Most people actually enjoy the location as it is a bit out of the hectic and noisy city and definetly a very safe area.
Thanks again for the nice feedback and have a lovely day!
Just a very short weekend trip to Bali, 1st time visit to Bali. Had a bit of hiccup when our flight was slightly delay and have to search for arranged driver initially.
Uncle Made had been very accommodating for me and my GF, whole villa is nice and cozy, he had also suggested quite a few places for us to visit.
Overall was very comfortable and definitely will suggest to any friends that will be heading to Bali in the future.
We had a good time in Bali staying in Villa Atlantis. Made looked after the place and us well. We arranged local tour with Wayan, and he was great too. Daniel is very responsive via email and helpful.
The villa is beautiful and looks exactly as the photos shown. It's in a neighbourhood and about 10-15 minutes walking to nearest shops and restaurants. The rosters might be an issue to others but we were fine with it.
The moment we landed in the airport, Pak Made met us there and took us to the villa. On the way we asked that he stop at a place for us to get dinner to go. Pak Made is also the host who cooked us delicious breakfast every morning. We had Wayan, his nephew, as our guide during our stay. He took us to all the places we wanted to go and provided recommendations. Recommend using both of them as a resource.
The place was very nice and private. You drive down this alley and park, then you walk down this aisle and arrive at your door. Walls are very tall, ~12 ft, all around so each villa gets a sense of privacy. The villa itself was very clean and nice. You walk up stairs to your bedroom that you can see from the pictures. The living room and kitchen is downstairs. As you walk down your stairs from yuor bedroom you will be above this fishpond with fish and a turtle, you then walk on these stone tiles to the bathroom framed with a traditional balinese door.
Overall good experience, we were only there for two nights, too short for a place a unique as Bali. We will be returning to Daniel, Pak Made and Wayan as our hosts.

About the Host, Daniel
Hello, I'm Daniel, have been lucky enough to be travelling and living abroad for the last 10 years, and call Bali home since 5 years. I grew up in-between the mountains of the Italian Alps, in a small city called Bolzano.
I am married to my beautiful balinese wife and enjoy spending my time reading, meditating, drinking tea, healing and hanging out with friends and my 2 little daughters.
We have recently moved back to Italy for a couple of years to experience a new and interesting chapter in our lives. My balinese family and best friends will be there for you to care for any of your needs, while I still occupy myself with the bookings and reservations and organising different arrangements.
I don't have a philosophy of life, but I try to treat every person with the upmost respect and sincerity, and simply enjoy to connect with a lot of different people, which I think makes the world a beautiful and colourful canvas. To bring out the most natural and authentic side in everyone has somewhat become my life's mission because it has helped me on my own path to find peace and strength in myself. To really care about yourself and others gives life an intensity, which is needed to make the world a better place.
