  • Luna and her family are lovely and welcoming hosts. I really enjoyed meeting them. The room was great and clean and I have never had a bathroom with a nicer view. The little notes in English with the wifi code and how the tap worked were a nice touch. And I was so lucky that it was apricot and plum season. I got to eat a lot of those from their own backyard :-)

  • Staying at Luna's house guarantees a perfect dream vacation. Luna and her parents are great people, generous and warm hosts, aside from being well educated, enthousiastic and good company. It is my pleasure to recommend this room in a villa to anyone who wishes to experience real Italy, off-the-beaten-track-paradise Italy. I was treated like a friend of the family, taken on walks to discover various parts of town and surroundings, and invited to dine with the family. During my stay I could ask for nearly anything and they were always happy to assist.
Civita Castellana itself (email hidden), especially for people who love nature and history, for artists and dreamers alike, and it is not too far from Rome and can be a good base if you want to travel around this amazing region. I wish to thank Luna's mother and father, and Luna herself, for a beautiful experience, when I come back here - hopefully soon - I will stay there again.

  • What a wonderful experience living with Luna and her family for six weeks in Civita Castellana. I felt so very welcome in their beautiful Italian home. I didn’t feel like a tenant or that I was living on top of their family, but rather within it as a family member. They really took me in as one of their own.

I was in Civita Castellana for a landscape painting program – and they were very flexible with my schedule. Cesare, Luna’s father, would even drive me to lectures and critiques. As a painter, this (email hidden) to stay – art books, the artwork of Maria (Luna’s mom) – a home filled with an appreciation of art and good living. They also had an incredible trail behind their home - where it felt as though I was stepping back in time into an undisturbed land of magical wonder. They even took me along on a few trips to places outside of Civita for further art exploration (some 3,000 year old tombs nearby, Bomarzo, and Rome).

And the food! Luna and Cesare are both wonderful cooks and know how to utilize the summer’s bounty. I was happily well fed those six weeks.

The room – on the third floor of their home - felt as though I had an independent space of my own (which was important for me being there for six weeks). Balcony had a beautiful view, where I painted a few times. I was there in the heat of summer, but their home never felt like it (even on the third floor). During a heat wave, I did use a fan during my mid-day naps – but it cooled down enough by nighttime.

Luna was there for the first two weeks, which was great since I spoke little Italian. She welcomed me fully into her group of friends - inviting me out for drinks, dinner, and mid-afternoon cafe chats at home. Still, my little Italian wasn’t a huge hurdle with her parents, who were very patient and expressive.

I know I’ll be keeping in touch with Luna and her family. I give their place my highest recommendation.

  • WOW.
    That should say it all.
I loved my stay at Luna's house. It was a pleasure to meet her parents and friends.

Luna is very sweet and the entire family treat you not as a client but as a friend (and that's something i really appreciated).

The room is really nice and it is clean and quiet.

I hope i'll be able to visit them again.

I have my degree in Italian Letters and I'm still studying in Rome for my PhD; I'd love to become an Italian teacher. I love to travel and to meet many people all around the world 'cause friendship is one of the best things we could have and every day is a new experience.
