3 BEDROOM DUPLEX HOUSE WITH GARDEN FOR RENT IN JULY AND AUGUST IN MONTPELLIER, SOUTHERN FRANCE'S MOST LIVABLE CITY
A situation that will please both parents and children
In historic Montpellier, voted France's best place to live and one of the country's top 5 tourist destinations, only 10 minutes from the Mediterranean:
Sunny, tastefully furnished 100 square meter 3 bedroom home with 350 sq meter garden, large trees, parking, near town center, for rent in July and August.
3 bedrooms with high ceilings sleep up to 6 people: two BR with double beds, one with bunk bed. All have large windows, wooden shutters. Two BR have wrought iron balconies.
Big, beautiful kitchen/dining area: 40 meter space with picture window giving onto garden, fully equipped with top quality dishwasher, microwave, stove, oven. Large table seats up to 8 people.
20 meter living room with high ceiling: 2 sofas, 80'' screen TV, game console, free WIFI, stereo, piano.
Separate laundry area: washing machine, clotheslines.
300 meter garden: large trees, grass lawn, brick patio, child's swing, vegetable patch, wooden picnic table and chairs, seats up to 8. Parking space, bikes (website hidden): Montpellier. Neighborhood: Town Hall (Nouvelle Mairie /Moularès/Aiguerelles). Less than 10 minutes by tram, bike or car from historic centre, (museums, opera, shopping, restaurants) 10 minutes from the beach (Palavas) by car or 20min by tram (Carnon).
Tram stop across the street (city center tramline no.4)
Pharmacy, grocery, bakery in close proximity (300 – 400 meters)
Large park with indoor/outdoor swimming pool, football fields, jogging path, picnic tables, ping pong garden, 1 block away (200m).

Guests have full access to upstairs of duplex house and private 350 sq meter garden. No shared space whatsoever. Owner is largely absent but may occupy small, separate studio on ground floor to water garden, walk dog, etc. The neighboring part of the duplex house is both downstairs and in the back, so there is no direct contact with neighbors, no common areas, i.e. separate entrances, gardens, no shared space, no visibility.
Interaction with Guests
Owner is available on an as needed basis. Often travels for work but may sleep in studio apartment on ground floor, or come to water garden, walk dog. Your use of the garden will be 100% private, not shared. However the owner may be visible to you out the window as he comes in or goes out.
Other Things to Note
The garden contains a vegatable patch, grapevines, some flowers and fruit trees, as well as larger shade trees, a grassy area, a gravel area, patio, picnic table and lawn chairs. It is great for relaxing in, having meals, and very gentle play by young children. It is not appropriate for ball playing, loud parties or other high energy activities as this may impact the plantlife or disturb the neighbors. (A large park with play and sports equipment as well as jogging paths and a public pool, is only 200 meters from the house).
No smoking whatsoever indoors. You may smoke in the garden.
Please refrain from loud noise or ball playing.
There is an extremely gentle, calm Labrador living on the property (he has a doghouse at the end of the garden). Very docile with children.
To avoid a cleaning fee, please leave the house as clean as you found it.
Michael was the prefect host...very laid back and yet nothing was too much for him. The house is lovely and easily big enough for a family. We have two teenagers and there was more than enough space.
There is a tram directly outside the house on the street... Sadly it was not running due to upgrade works when we were there. However there was a replacement bus which got us into the centre of town in 10 mins
We used the velomagg bikes to get home.. Nearly all downhill...and there is a bike station at the corner of the street....very easy
Staying out of the centre has so many advantages...parking the car and getting out to the great beaches without tackling the horrific Montpellier traffic are just two.
We couldn't fault our stay.. Great house, great host, great garden and great location!!
Michael è stato un ospite eccezionale: fin dal nostro arrivo ci ha fatto sentire come se fossimo a casa intrattenendo noi e i nostri bambini assieme al suo splendido cane.
La casa è molto bella, tenuta con cura e dispone di ogni cosa per un ottimo soggiorno. I nostri bambini hanno adorato l'altalena presente nel giardino davanti alla casa.
Pur essendo ubicata accanto a un'area commerciale molto grande (supermarket, fast-food, shopping center), la casa gode di un'assoluta tranquillità.
Il giardino è grande e può ospitare l'auto con i bagagli, cosa che per noi è stata importantissima dato che stavamo tornando da un lungo viaggio in Spagna.
Le lieu est bien situé à Montpellier et l'aéroport logement est spacieux. Mais il s'agit d'un appartement au premier étage avec jardin, partagé avec le propriétaire qui loge en dessous pendant le séjour. Il est dommage que nous ayons pas été prévenu avant. Pas adapté donc pour les familles avec enfants, car le propriétaire demande à ce que nous ne fassions pas de bruit le matin car il dort. Et le jardin est partagé. Nous mômes déçu en partie par notre séjour.
E.Fali left a commentary as someone who did not red the description on the (website hidden) you can see on the fhoto the house is on the first floor,and has a studio below.Two weeks prior their arrival E.Fali asked me if anyone occupied the studio in a telephone conversation and I told her that I was going to be the only occupant but that I would not receive anybody and that the garden was totally at their disposition.E.Fali did not reed the house rules,it says:not to be noisy and use a common sense.But she did not like when I told them that the kids should not run jump in the apartment,at least early in the morning.I had many family with kids and as you can see from the review they have a different opinion and experience.
Good stay - very nice house close to the beach (10' by car) and the city center (15' by tram). The host and his family were very friendly and helpful.
Milena and I thoroughly enjoyed both the apartment and the host and his family. They helped us find restaurants that were fantastic and many other interesting places. The apartment is very spacious, clean and is just beautiful. But the family (and Kimbo, their beautiful labrador) made our stay very special and pleasant. We thank them for their generosity and warmth and the use of their beautiful home. It is ideally located by the way.
Michael встрелил нас очень радушно, даже любезно презентовал нашей семье набор продуктов на первое время, что было очень неожиданно. Квартира просторная, есть небольшой двор, рядом с домом. Все фотографии соответствуют действительности. Рядом остановка трамвая, на котором удобно добираться до многих мест. Вообще всем советую прокатиться хоть раз на трамвайчике. Море рядом, на машине 15мин. Здесь вы найдете много развлечений как в самом городе, так и в пределах 1часа езды. Можно посетить шикарные пещеры со сталактитами, покататься на лошадях, шикарный веревочный парк в 15 мин езды на машине, в часе езды находится самый высокий мост в Европе в городе Millau (Мийо). Так что спасибо Michael за хороший, уютный дом.
August in Montpellier was a wonderful experience. Michael was as an great host, the house was comfortable and fully equipped, the garden was very nice with a lot of shade.
For our family an ideal place to enjoy a relaxed holiday with some swimming in the sea, sightseeing in the neighbourhood and ofcourse a lot of nice food. A place to feel immediately at home!
