Pierre's house is absolutely beautiful, very old, beautifully restored and maintained. It is furnished with beautiful antiques that suit the house, adding sophistication and atmosphere. Set in a rural hamlet, walking distance to La Roque St Christophe, the outlook from the upper room is over fields & forest. You will sleep well here - it is a very peaceful place! Pierre has thoughtfully provided much information for the tourist on attractions in the area, markets etc. including maps of the local walking paths. He also advised us the best places to eat. There are gorgeous villages to explore close by with bars, restaurants and other shopping. Thoughtfully, Pierre treated us to croissants and fresh bread on our first morning there and again the morning before we left. Thank you Pierre for helping to make our stay so memorable. We will return!

Pierre was the most gracious host. He made us feel so welcome. On our first morning Pierre brought us delicious croissants and bread to go along with the eggs and butter already in the refrigerator! Everything about staying at his home was wonderful. We felt like we were in a dream. There are no words to describe the beauty we were surrounded by. The fig trees, the flowers, the sense of history, the calm. My family has origins in the Dordogne area and I was charmed by what I saw and felt. It was best part of our trip to France!!

This place is absolutely beautiful and so close to some 55,000 year old ancient relics and the beautiful Vezere river. Pierre and his family were so lovely, and brought us croissants on our 1st and last day. You need a car to get here but when you do you will not be disappointed. It is the most beautiful location and we would highly recommend staying to anyone who visits this area in France. Great food, in great restaurants nearby, fabulous markets, swimming in the Vezere and Dordogne is just majestic. Thanks Pierre and family!!!

WOW! Our first Airbnb experience was fantastic thanks to our French host Pierre and his beautiful home. The picturesque Dordogne Valley was the perfect backdrop. My husband and I live in the San Francisco area and have high expectations -- we love comfort, beauty and nature. Pierre's home oozes charm and was immaculate. His photos of the house, property and area represent the property to a tee. If you love nature, quiet and the beauty of the French countryside, this house is perfectly situated. On several occasions, he and his family (who live closeby) exceeded our expectations by providing extras that made us feel welcomed and cared for -- helpful directions, Wifi support, recommendations on things to do and places to go, breakfast on our first morning, and even setting up his outdoor ping pong table and playing with us! This is a home and host not to be missed if your travels take you to southern France.

Pierre was the most excellent host. He opened up his home especially for us during the Christmas Holidays in winter. He had to come from another city to prepare it for us. Pierre and his family were so kind and welcomed us when we arrived late and in the dark. The fridge was stocked with very helpful essentials for us to use and the kitchen was well equipped. The next morning they even gave us fresh croissants and a loaf of bread. The property itself is so very beautiful and we had an incredibly relaxing time there. The place was spotlessly clean. Our dog was extremely well catered for with a large paddock behind the property that we could walk through to get to the town. Pierre and his family were wonderful at helping us with purchasing additional wifi and spent considerable time doing so. We really appreciated this. (There was plenty of wifi provided - I just (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)d Australia for an hour!?) They were all extremely pleasant to talk to and we were made to feel very at home. They even put up with my attempts at speaking French too! The region is spectacular. Granted many tourist attractions are closed at this time of year (first week January) but the nature is spectacular and the locals are very friendly and interesting to talk to. We had a very relaxing and pleasant stay and would recommend you visit if seeking a quiet Dordogne holiday. Thank you so much Pierre and family.

We spent 6 days at Pierres house in the Dordogne. Pierre was really helpful when we made enquiries, going to the trouble to check which car companies would let us rent a car at Bergerac and drop it at Brives. He gave us a lovely introduction to his property and some great tips about the region. He and his son were very patient and kind to our children - spending time drilling holes in 'conkers' for them. The house and property is absolutely lovely, very rural but also very comfortable. You do need a car but actually we spent a few days where we just walked down to the bakery and spent the rest of the day at the house just enjoying the views and the space. On other days we went canoeing or visited nearby castles or caves so there was plenty to do. Overall the whole experience really surpassed our expectations and couldn't really have been better so many thanks to Pierre and his family for sharing their beautiful house with us Liz
