This was an amazing place. The host was very helpful and was waiting for us when we arrived, even at 7pm at night.
The house was amazing and very clean and up to date. It fit our whole family easily but we spent most of our time sitting around the kitchen table talking and eating incredible local foods!
The surrounding area is incredible and paths just across the country road take you to an amazing pre-history cave that the kids loved. This area has a lot of things to offer families and I highly recommend staying at Pierre's.
This is an exceptionally beautiful house, restored with much love and care and a personal touch. There is lots of space in- en outside the house, it is very quiet, beautiful views over the hills. Pierre is a very friendly host, with whom it is a pleasure to communicate. On the first morning he provided us with fresh croissants and home-made jam, and although he was not around for most of the week, it was nice to meet him and his family.
We would certainly recommend this house, it certainly is one of the best places we stayed in in France.
This region, this house as well as Pierre and his family oozes serenity, calm, aesthetic beauty and genuineness. For me and my family the two weeks in this place was amazing, the weather shifting from thunder to gentle rain to hot Sun, but all the time at the background of these mountains, this Valley, the vezere river, the (website hidden) in this beautiful kitchen, bathing in the nearby river, walking or driving by the Grotte San Christophe. This is as good as it gets! And Pierre and his family are both kind, interesting and helpful in all possible ways.
We loved staying in this charming gîte! This house was our favorite of the places that we stayed during our travels. There were 5 of us staying here - four adults and one child - and the house was perfect for us. Very comfortable and beautiful, and the location is amazing. We loved being out in the country, and yet being just a short drive to so many great sites. There are many walking/hiking trails close by, and we were thrilled to be able to follow one of them through the woods down to La Roque St Christophe. Pierre is wonderful, and a gracious host. Thank you so much!
Pierre's house is simply beautiful! It has so much charm and character, with all of the modern conveniences. We had everything we needed. There were even toys for our young children, which they enjoyed so much. There are incredible views over the valley. It didn't get dark until very late, so after our children were cozy in bed, we could enjoy the view with a wine or warm tea. We explored the property, which is large and green and beautiful. The location of the house was great - in a rural setting, but close to many interesting places to visit. We found the troglodyte caves nearby fascinating. Pierre was always very helpful, both before and during our stay. Thank you Pierre - you are lucky to have such a wonderful property for your family.
There are not enough words to describe how wonderful this place is! We had such a lovely time here and the house and property is absolutely beautiful. We were a family of 5 (4 adults and 1 child) and spent 5 nights here. We felt right at home and there was plenty of space for all of us. We were welcomed right away by Pierre and his family, which made the stay all the better. Pierre is an excellent host - very welcoming, warm and friendly. He had lots of info for things to do, helped us out if we needed anything. Most of all, we enjoyed talking with Pierre when given the chance. We were lucky enough to meet his family while we were there - which was a great part of our stay! If you love being in the country (but not too far from town) then this place will steal your heart. There are plenty of walking & hiking trails nearby, and the place is perfectly located for visiting all the caves and other attractions in the area. We highly recommend this beautiful place and we plan to be back again very soon!
