The Space

A couple spare rooms in a house in the apple growing region of central new york (just a scooch south of Syracuse) located near some of the nicer places to ride a bike (if you like scenery and hills)

A great place to crash if going into town for any of the bicycle races held in and around Syracuse

There are also many excellent places to hike located nearby, such as Highland Forest, and Tinker's Falls in the Labrador unique area

Located practically next door to Beak and Skiff Apple Orchard, and just around the corner from their apple vodka distillery and apple winery.

One room has a normal bed the other has a pull out sofa, air mattresses are available as well

  • We spent a great weekend near the Syracuse area and Wes was a great host. Too bad it was such a short stay

  • This room worked out great for my project which came together last minute. Wesley is very flexible and easy going, so coming in late, leaving early and extending my stay was no problem. The room and adjacent bathroom were clean and ready for me. His dog and cat were good company too.

  • We spent one night at Wesley's. Wesley and his pets are very friendly and we had a pleasant time.
In the morning we drove quite a bit until we found a place to eat breakfast. So ether ask Wesley for some directions for a place to eat or take something with you to have a breakfast at Wesley's.

  • We had two nice days at Wes's home. He is a very kind person provided lots of information and allowed us to use his kitchen and he left us some of his pan cake batter/eggs over for breakfast. He is uncomplicated at all. Anybody who likes cats and dogs will love his pets.

  • Our stay at Wes's was a quiet pleasure from beginning to end. Wes is a gracious, non-intrusive host, and his dog Koda and cat Munch were each friendly and dog-like and cat-like. They all truly made us feel at home in an absolutely beautiful setting in Central New York. Wes is a young cabinet-maker and an interior re-modeller, and from what he has done so far, we are looking forward to revisiting this beautiful home in the future. It was great sleeping in a comfortable bed with a gorgeous hand-crafted frame. As lovely and comfortable as he has already made it, we look forward to see the finished project. Most of our time was spent on our purposes for coming to Syracuse, but the quiet and rest we found at Wes's more than made up for the brief, 15-20 minute commute into the University area. The beauty of the drive in would have been worth it, all by itself! Sharing the upstairs bath was not a problem since Wes was out early for work and we coordinated well in the evening. There was always the downstairs bathroom when necessary. He's really a great guy--interesting to talk to and eager to do all he can to make the stay enjoyable. A totally congenial host in every way.

  • Wes is an awesome host, friendly and familiar. His house on the hill is a comfy one with gorgeous view. His pets are sweet and well-behaved, it's good to have them there even if someone doesn't like animals.
We had a great time there and we really felt ourselves as valued guests. They even made us pancakes and apple crisps!

Hi I am a fairly active Carpenter/Cabinet/Furniture maker who realized that half of the space in my house is being wasted, and since I really only am occupying it for brief periods of time why not share it. Now that summer is approaching some of the many things that keep me outside are cycling, hiking with my goofy mutt Koda, and the occasional hockey game among many other things that keep my life interesting. I often enjoy BBQing and the occasional bonfire.
