2.5 hours from NYC and 2 hours from Boston. Secluded cabin with ample amenities. 5 bedroom, 2.5 baths with Finnish sauna in the Berkshires. Chef's kitchen, wood stove, gas grill, private lake, 3 kayaks, pool, tennis court, and private access to State Park hiking trails. 20 minutes to Great Barrington, Stockbridge, Lenox, Tanglewood, and Jacob's Pillow. In addition to 4 queen sized beds, two twin beds, the house comes with two pack-and-plays, one high chair, and plenty of children's toys.

The space
The space:
We are a family of four who enjoy entertaining family and friends and are excited to open our cabin to others looking for a cozy retreat in the woods. Our cabin in the woods is a flexible space-comfortable both as an intimate getaway and hosting two families or multiple friends.

The main level has an open concept layout where guests can cook, eat, entertain and gather by the fire. The kitchen is open to the dining table which comfortably seats 8, and the living area with an extra large couch, wood stove and picturesque views from the many windows surrounding the space.

The well-appointed kitchen has a new electric stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. The kitchen is outfitted with everything needed to cook or bake. Small appliances include: microwave, toaster, electric kettle, french press, stovetop espresso maker, blender, food processor, waffle maker, and electric fondue pot. An array of pots and pans, including paella pan, are available. Dishes and stemware available for 16.

Off of the main floor there is a large screened in porch and wrap around deck with gas grill. The main floor also has a half bath with towels and linens and a laundry room.

The top floor has two queen-sized bedrooms (with two pack-and-plays and a twin futon mattress available) and a full bath with skylight and double sink.

The garden level has three bedrooms, two with queen-sized beds and one with two twin beds, a full bath with Finnish sauna and an open den with smart TV, couch, foosball table, and numerous board games and puzzles for the whole family. From the garden level, guests can access the wooded back yard.

Guests enter on the main level through the mudroom which holds anything you will need to enjoy the local amenities, including tennis rackets and balls, beach chairs, life preservers for kayaking, and plenty of beach toys for the kids.

Each season in the Berkshires is magical. In winter, sit by the wood stove, enjoy the Finnish sauna after a day skiing at Otis Ridge (a 5 minute drive from the house) or hike or snow shoe through nearby Otis State park (the trail is accessible from the end of our road). In spring, summer and fall, enjoy our three kayaks in the private lake and the tennis and pickle courts or hike any of the nearby trails. In summer, enjoy the community pool and swimming in the lake. Our home is a great home base to explore the local Berkshire attractions.

We are a short, beautiful drive to restaurants in New Marlboro, coffeeshops, ice cream, food coop, and many home and gift shops in Great Barrington, and dozens of cafes and restaurants in Stockbridge, Lennox and Lee. We are happy to provide a list of our favorite nearby spots.
