This spacious and luminous apartment is located on the 1st floor of a beautiful elegant building in the very heart of Rome (lift available). Please note that there are a few steps to climb at the entrance (see picture), to reach the lift. It has been completely refurbished with marble floors and beautiful venetian stucco walls, and also the bathrooms are luxuriously finished in marble.
The apartment is composed by a modern, completely equipped kitchen with dining table, a terrace with two smaller tables, a living room with two double sofa beds, a master bedroom with a Queen size bed plus a single sofa bed, an ensuite bathroom with shower to this bedroom, a second bedroom with a French size bed (120cm wide, for 1-2 persons), and a main bathroom with a jacuzzi shower.
Please note that there are a few steps to climb to reach the terrace. The apartment includes air conditioning, a TV (in the kitchen, only italian channels), an iron with ironing board.
The size of the apartment is about 130 sqm, plus the terrace (15 sqm).
This apartment is extraordinarily located on Via Flaminia, right next to Piazzale Flaminio. This square is strategically located between Modern Rome and Ancient Rome: only the Medieval Walls separate it from Piazza del Popolo, which is one of the most vast and enchanting squares in Rome, and a popular meeting point for Romans and visitors alike. This is no surprise, as Piazza del Popolo constitutes the northern end of the famous historic centre of Rome, and every step will remind you of its ancient history. This area is more alive than ever, with countless shops, boutiques and restaurants, ranging from very reasonable to absolutely exclusive. It is this variety that especially marks this area: Whilst you can easily find an authentic, high quality and reasonably priced place for dinner, this area is home to some of the most famous and exclusive hotels and restaurants in the world.
Located above Piazza del Popolo, to the east, you will find the Villa Borghese gardens, constituting the second largest public park in Rome. This park starts spectacularly at “Il Pincio”, a fantastic terrace offering some of the best views over Rome, at only 5 minutes on foot from Piazza del Popolo. From “Il Pincio”, this magical park extends itself over 80 hectares to the east, and contains a number of historic buildings, as well as the renowned Villa Borghese itself: An art gallery exhibiting one of the most important collections of ancient and renaissance art in Rome.
Walking in a south-east direction from Piazza del Popolo, down Via del Babuino, you can reach Piazza di Spagna with the famous Spanish Steps and the church Trinità dei Monti in less than 15 minutes.
Via del Corso, however, a well-loved shopping street with a reputation amongst romans and visitors alike, will take you south towards Piazza Venezia, which you can reach in less than 30 minutes on foot. Just off Via del Corso, to the west, you will discover the unique and enchanting area containing Piazza Navona, Campo de’ Fiori and the Pantheon, and to the east the Trevi Fountain. From Piazza Venezia you can easily access the Campidoglio on the Capitoline Hill, behind which the Roman Forum leads up to the grand Colosseum.
Even Vatican City is not far from this apartment. From Piazza del Popolo you can go west and cross the river, continuing down Via Cola di Rienzo, another one of the most acclaimed and bustling shopping streets in Rome, leading right up to Piazza del Risorgimento. This square is at only a stone's throw from the impressive Piazza San Pietro, with its Basilica di San Pietro in Vaticano: Being one of the most famous buildings in the world, this church of all churches requires no introduction.
As for public transport, the Line A metro stop "Flaminio" is at barely 2 minutes from the apartment, on Piazzale Flaminio. Several bus and tram lines also run through Piazzale Flaminio as well as Piazza del Popolo, and all parts of Rome, as well as most of the sites and monuments mentioned above, can easily be reached by public transport.
Perfect location, nice apartment with wonderful view. Enrico waitede for us in the apartment as agreed and was a nice and helpful host.
Spacious apartment with everything in place. Excellent bathrooms and lots of room. Good residential area with 24/7 carefour in 15-walk distance, about 30-40 mins walk from Vatican, close enough to Palazetto de la sport if that's what you are looking for. Beware that you won't catch a cab from there- use either bus or uber if you must. Cable internet is very slow so I'd advise to buy a 10 gig sim-card cheaply in the wind store nearby- lte speed is mind-blowing in Rome.
Merci beaucoup !
The location of the flat is great. Steps away from St. Marks Square and conveniently near to both markets and restaurants. It is also close to public transport, which comes handy whilst in Venice.
I share fellow's traveler Li concern about bedding though. I'm sure it will be fixed soon.
If you arrive late you will be charged €30. It says so in the details given to you by Enrico, but I do not know why that charge is applied.
Overall Is a very good flat. Is cozy well equipped, and comfortable.
We would return to Enrico's place when traveling to Venice... Such a wonderful city.
Well located, very clean, very spacious and modern, the owner is very nice and caring, the internet did not work.
Overall, this was a really great place to stay in Venice - great location and a really cute and cozy space. Natalia is the owner, very nice and accomodating. She was out of town on our arrival date, but arranged for a friend of hers to meet us at the bus station.
A few small things to note though:
The process was a bit confusing as the unit is rented through a third party agency, but you still deal with the owner directly. (Natalia, if you know about this site, rent it yourself and cut out the second middle man!)
Some of the other reviews here are correct in the plaza being a bit noisy at night and the wi-fi being difficult to figure out.
Beyond that though, a great spot and would definitely stay again.
The apartment is nice and its location is indeed very close to Coliseum. Internet connection seems to be limited to two connected devices. This is not convenient when you travel not alone.
Very happy with our stay. Great location in a busy square with plenty of fun bars. The flat itself is plenty large enough to relax in.
If I was in Venice again, I would happily stay in this flat.
The location is perfect! Just literally 1 minute from San Marco! The kitchen is very well equipped that we ended up cooking most if our meals there. The fish market is very close, only 15 minute walk, so I would highly recommend anyone who rent this place to cook your own seafood!
The flat is very spacious and clean. We have a toddler and he could run around in the flat and not feel like being confined.
The beds are not very comfortable though. They seem like air beds, and the middle portion if the bed is slightly bulging out. We don't feel it the first night since we were so tired. But the nights after we're pretty bed, I felt like my back is being pushed upward, and I woke up with a terrible backache the next morning. I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room. Other people in our party also complains about the beds.
Another problem, which maybe a common problem in Venice, is that there were Mosquitos. It's end of October and there are still lots of Mosquitos. The fact that Venice is a water town and the bottom of this building is a restaurant maybe the cause for the Mosquitos. We solve the problem by not opening the windows in the bedrooms, and we make sure to close the doors of the rooms that we keep the windows open for ventilation such as bathroom and kitchen.
Communication with Enrico is non existent. This may not be a problem since all of my message to him doesn't really require reply, such as notifying him we are arriving shortly, we are checking out and leaving the keys inside etc. maybe that's the reason he didn't reply my message. So make sure you could establish a line of communication with him just in case something needs attention.
All in all this is still a very nice place to stay and I would rent it again if I were in Venice again, just hope the beds will improve.
Thanks for your feedback about the (website hidden).
We are going to check with the owner how to improve the beds and to prevent the mosquitos enter into the flat.
In October there should not be many mosquitos in Venice since it is fresher than in summer. Maybe, you just met some by chance.
