Separate, Private Guesthouse in my backyard in Silverlake. Newly renovated Loft with queen bed, couch downstairs also can be a single bed. Mini-kitchen, refrigerator, full bathroom. Quiet, surrounded by yards, neighbors far away. Walk to Sunset Junction, tons of fabulous cafes and shops. Farmer's market on Saturdays. Parking is available in my driveway. The check in and out times may be altered according to when my next guest arrives, so feel free to ask and I will try and accommodate you. I changed the minimum nights to 2, but if its a last minute booking and there is one night available. just ask me, I may say yes!
** Due to LA City taxes, all guests must pay a 14% transient occupancy tax to the city for all stays of 30 days or less, so you will need to pay this amount to me separately, it is not included in the price you are paying to airbnb. I will provide an envelope for you to pay me cash for this amount. This is the same tax you pay in LA hotels and I have to forward it to LA City Hall each month. Airbnb has no facility to collect the tax at this time, so I will accept a cash payment upon check in or pay pal if you want to use a credit card. Feel free to call airbnb support to confirm this **
**This charge does not apply to stays over 30 days.

We had a great time staying at Janet's place. It was lovely and clean, quite, spacious and safe! It was also really well positions to take advantage of local bars, restaurants and cafes!
I booked Janet's guest house for my Dad's visit to L.A., and we were both totally charmed by the place! The house itself is clean, cute and cozy, and the little patio out front made it feel like an oasis tucked just around the corner from Sunset Blvd. We met Janet briefly and she was so nice and accommodating. Also, the location is ideal for someone seeking a hotel-quality room in the Silver Lake area (where there aren't many hotels to speak of). A super short walk to Sunset Junction and all the shops, restaurants and Farmer's Market combined with a quite, pretty residential location make this pretty much and ideal spot. Thank you, Janet! I'll definitely be referring other guests to you in the future!
Janets place is amazing. We LOVE staying here. This was our second time and we will be back next time in LA.
really great place! clean and comfortable and janet made everything easy as can be. can't recommend highly enough.
Janet's guest house was absolutely the place I needed to be after a long 13 hour drive from New Mexico. The apartment I had set up for my return to LA fell through at the last minute and not only did Janet get back to me immediately, but was perfectly accommodating when I needed to move in within a few hours. The space itself is beautiful, peaceful and very private. With all my belongings in my car it was excellent that it was secure and safe in her driveway. The garden outside the door is a small oasis as is the loft bed. The high ceilings made the space calm despite my having spread all of my things around for organizing and eventual storage. When Janet heard I was looking for a place in the area to rent she kept her eye out and had recommendations for me, which was very thoughtful. The neighborhood can't be beat really, it's in the heart of Silverlake, less than a 10 minute walk from the sunset junction, and a few blocks from the 101 and not far from the 10. Surprisingly accessible. This space is great for couples and single travelers, but in particular it was great for me, a woman traveling alone and needing peace and positive energy!
Janet's guesthouse was absolutely lovely and perfect for a quick and relaxing LA retreat. I agree with other reviewers about lots of things: 1. It feels like you're the first person to ever have stayed there, because it's so darn clean. Cleaner than a hotel room. and not in that overly-fragrant, freshly mopped kind if way- but in a breezy, amazingly spotless and seemingly effortless kind of way. 2. I feel like I could live here full time, too. 3. The driveway is narrow, but to have a parking spot off the street at all is so nice, so we didn't mind. So many other things! Lovely patio, nice bed, comfy linens and towels, very private, Janet was easy going and quick to respond to any questions, super close to food and coffee, good internet. All around awesome and never going back to hotels in LA so long as Janet's place is open.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this space. This is what Airbnb is about. The place was impeccably clean, comfortable, and stylish. I spent most of my days out for work, and it was so nice to just come to my own place and relax. The bed and pillows are the ridiculous kind of comfy. The kind where you're like, "WHAT THE HELL WHY DO YOU FEEL SO NICE, ALIEN PILLOW"
I also really like to be left alone, and Janet totally gave me my space- I don't think I even saw her once. Totally fine by me! (definitely no offense, Janet, you're probably awesome. Especially because this place is the bomb)
The towels were Lacoste- daaaaang
The kitchen was the perfect size
The light is perfect when it streams through in the morning
There are instructions for everything you could need
Can I live here? Seriously.
Janet's place is fabulous we absolutely loved it! The space was perfect for us... Location was great and the bed was comfortable! We loved it.
I was in a jam and needed to book a very last minute stay, and Janet was there to the rescue! Could not be thankful enough of her speedy response to my request.
We really enjoyed our stay at Janet's Silverlake Guesthouse! We could walk to coffee and lunch spots, and it was a convenient location for seeing our friends. The guesthouse was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks!
