About this listing
A peaceful home. Inside London but away from the maddening crowd and pollution. All amenities, parks, lakes, health and fitness centres, swimming pools, free car park are at doorstep. 24 hour transport to different parts of London and guide service.
I have received more than 50 references as a good host on (website hidden) and (website hidden) sites.
My large flat is in historical Crystal Palace area. It is about 25 minutes by public transport from Central London and Olympics Park.
This area inspired writers like Emile Zola and painters like Pissaro who lived and worked in the neighbourhood.
In my large apartment, there are two bedrooms to let. Large kitchen is available .
A large living room with natural light is available whenever it is not used by the host. There are lots of green parks near the flat. There is a big collection of book, dvds and classical music cds which can be watched with mutual arrangements.
The guests should expect reasonable hospitality and whenever possible, guided service to important parts of London.
All amenities like late night shops, supermarkets, cafes, bars, swimming pool, parks, lakes and clubs are nearby.
Photographers come from all over the world to take pictures of Dinosaurs by the lake.
It would suit tourists who want to have quiet time when they return from the hectic tourisitc central London and breath fresh air rather than the pollution of a metropolis.
My two rooms are ideal for young travellers who want medium size comforts.
The rent includes all basic expenses on gas, electricity, wi-fi, lift, private parking and hot water.
There is a washing machine in the kitchen too. One machine load would cost an additional 5 pounds.
The place is unique for its view, location, fresh air and my hospitality.
The guests will have the use of kitchen at an extra cost. Sometimes they might be invited to join me at various parties, visits to art galleries, theatres, social life of London etc at discounted prices.
Interaction with Guests
As much as they wish. They might be advised to go out for sight seeing as well.
The neighbourhood is very peaceful and unpolluted. It is surprising for being part of London but feels so special, far from the maddening crowd.
Yes, 24 hours transport, especially N3 whole night bus which stops just opposite our building. Different parts of Central London attractions can be reached within half an hour.
Other Things to Note
Seeing is believing.
Can be discussed if and when necessary. I wish my guests to feel free to express themselves. Smoking is allowed on the balcony.
Staying in this room was an overall pleasant experience, with many extra things being offered: for instance, Rakesh was very welcoming and shared his food with me etc. The room was clean and a short walk from Crystal Palace station in a very safe area, close to shops and small restaurants. Chatting with Rakesh was also great, he is one of the most culturally open and aware people I have ever met!
This was the worse place i had ever seen.Everywhere very dirty the bed was stinking no shower for 2 days etc.
never i go back at this place pfff
Hi Michael. Why didn't you tell me if you had an issue. Everyone else took shower without any problem. Yes, the bed was stinking and I had to spend a considreable amount of money to get the sheets cleaned. I realized that apparently you were drinking beer and spilling on it.
Great place to stay. Highly recommended!

About the Host, Rakesh
I am mathur on fidback.
My guests tend to enjoy it and remember not only my hospitality but also advice about London. I have spent half of my life in this great city. Please look at my pages (website hidden)
I have two furnished guest rooms. I can also supply clean towels. There is a large kitchen for cooking. Plenty of food, coffee and teas (black, green, Indian, English) are there.
Sometimes, time permitting, we can cook together. I can cook several Indian recipes, mostly vegetarian but sometimes with lamb and chicken.
My place is only 25 minute train ride away from Central London. There are 24 hour buses which stop opposite the house. Please check the address with me. This site is not able to show the correct address.
Everyone who stayed at my place wants to come back which is a good sign.
My life motto is: I can give you what I need most: tlc.
