Bondi Beach is a densely populated suburb of Sydney, you will hear people having fun and enjoying life as all the buildings in this area are very close. People live at Bondi Beach to go out and socialise. This is a party town. If you're after something quieter, it might be wise not to look at staying in Bondi.
With 2 good sized bedrooms, plus the main bedroom has leafy outlook sunroom office. A large wardrobe in each room. The 2nd bedroom king bed can be separated into twin beds (2x single beds) for single sleepers or children and the master bedroom has one comfortable queen bed.
Open plan living, with separate kitchen (gas stove/oven, no microwave), separate dining and living areas, with beautiful cedar wooden bi-fold doors bring the outdoors in that lead out to the large deck, overlooking the shaded garden.
The bathroom is 4 piece with a bath and shower of classic design.
There is an internal laundry cupboard with a washing machine and dryer.
The property is built on solid rock and has a natural air flow, with shading trees creating a very cool space in Summer months. This is eco cooling at its best so does not require any AC, installing AC would be in vain as the breeze and rock foundation keep this home very cool in Summer. We have run it as a holiday rental for over six years and not had any feedback about AC being required.
Winter provides a warm and cosy apartment, with gas heating, like a fireplace. With the northerly aspect, and deciduous trees that open up the deck to the sun, the Winter months provide sunshine on the deck and through the bi-fold doors. It's perfectly built for efficient heating as cooling.
Please do not ask to view the property prior to booking. It is impossible as Airbnb does not allow us to exchange contact details until bookings are confirmed.
Prices for Bondi Beach are variable throughout the year, as Bondi Beach is a Summer Seasonal hotspot, with Christmas and NYE being the most sought after. Please use the dates enquiry to check our variable prices.
Guests have access to a large wardrobe in each bedroom, all bookshelves, full bathroom and 90% of the kitchen. We reserve one kitchen cupboard, one wardrobe and one trunk; these are the only areas that are locked.
Interaction with Guests
We like to know when guests have settled in, so that we know guests have their keys and all is as expected. We also keep this in our rental agreement as we need to know if anything is not working or broken upon arrival so we can fix and replace items. Sometimes it is just a matter of usage instructions and rather than guests tell us at the end of their stay that items weren't working we would prefer to know so that we can send instructions if there is any issue.
Bondi Beach has become world famous for the fun lifestyle, creative creatures who live there, the restaurants and cafe's; and all within a 15min drive to the city.
This property is on one of the best streets of Bondi as it is only a couple of minutes walk to the beach and the village, but far enough away as to avoid the noisy main beach traffic and party goers.
There are buses that go to Bondi Junction, which links with trains to anywhere in Sydney.
Taxi's are quick and easy way to get in and out of the beach area. If you need a shuttle service to/from the airport, (website hidden) is your answer.

Standard Terms and Conditions of Temporary Holiday Accommodation
Note: Variances can be agreed on but only by arrangement with the owner in writing.
Provided will be: Pillows, Tea Towels, Blankets and Doona’s. Linen for one set will be supplied, if you require further linen, we can arrange a linen hire service that costs up to $75 a delivery.
Payment of booking constitutes the clients acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Balance of the rental amount must be received in full according to AIRBNB policies. If not the owner has the right to cancel the booking and attempt to re let it.
The owners will make every effort to ensure the property is available as booked. However the owners reserve the right to make alterations to bookings due to unforeseen circumstances.
To maintain a good standard for our guests we require certain conditions to be complied with. We appreciate most will respect our property but the occasional abuse requires that we state the following conditions.
Number of Guests should not exceed 4 adults or subsequently agreed in writing or email, and no more than 8 people in the apartment at one time. Fees will apply for excess guests not agreed with the owners in advance.
Parties and Functions are strictly prohibited. The price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly this rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc. Use contrary to this may result in additional payments.
Damage, Breakages, Theft and Loss are the tenants’ responsibility during their stay.
Personal Liability – it is the tenants’ responsibility for their own safety and welfare and owners are not liable for any harm caused to tenants’ welfare while at The Tranquil Backyard.
Departure - the property should be left in a similar state to its condition on arrival.
Check-out time is 10am by the latest, to allow time to prepare property for next guests.
Disturbance to our neighbours, including excessive noise, is prohibited and may result in termination of rental and additional payments of 100% per night of excessive noise.
AUD $900 Security will be charged through AIRBNB. The total amount will be refunded through AIRBNB subject to the above conditions being met. It is designed to cover any additional costs incurred including but not limited to, any breakage, damage or excess cleaning requirements, extra guests beyond those declared ..etc.
Pets are not allowed unless specific arrangements have been made in writing with the owner.
Loss - the owners take no responsibility for the tenant’s personal property.
Variations to these conditions may only be made by prior arrangements with the owner in writing.
Further to this each guest accepts the following:
I understand the inherent risks associated with occupying this property and the possible injuries that can be sustained by occupying this property. I knowingly and voluntarily assume these risks and full responsibility for any personal injury or illness, including death, that may be sustained by me, or any loss or damage to property owned by me, as a result of or in any way arising out of, my occupancy of this property, or in travel to and from this property. I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for medical or other costs arising out of any bodily injury, illness, or property damage or loss sustained by me through my occupancy. I hereby agree that in consideration of the host allowing me to occupy the property, I do for myself and my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns hereby release, waive, and forever discharge the host, its officers, agents and employees from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of actions arising out of or related to (i) any injury or illness, including death, that may be sustained by me or which I may cause during the course of my occupancy or (ii) any loss or damage to my property, while in occupancy and any activities incidental to the occupancy. I hereby agree to indemnify the host, its officers, agents and employees against all liability for any personal injury or illness, loss or damage to property, or costs, including court costs and attorneys fees that may result from or arise out of my occupancy.
Nicely equipped flat in a perfect location and beautiful neighbourhood. Also very good per information. We enjoyed our stay, however, on the last day, we found cockroaches in the kitchen, and also there is some renovating ongoing in the flat upstairs.
This is a garden apartment and unfortunately cockroaches are not uncommon in Bondi or Sydney. We counter this by doing pest controls regularly. There is no renovation in the building, but maybe someone was putting up a picture? I'm not sure but I do know there are no renovation works in the building at all.
Host was very good at responding to emails and making sure we arrived. Great neighbourhood, close to the beach and restaurants, although parking turned out to cause a bit of trouble. House is very spacious and has a beautiful back yard. However, do to it being an older place the noise traveled. Overall, a pleasant stay.
We had a great stay at the apartment. Location was perfect, close enough to the action but quiet and beautifully furnished.
Our teenager left the apartment door open when we left ( luckily a very safe block, and thanks to the neighbour for spotting and closing) and Angelique was great about it ( we were horrified and he will never do it again - general teenager/adult lack of communication). We would recommend this place or host to any visitor, much better than a hotel.
Great apparent and cool devour. Had a bit of access code trouble when we arrived but once in we had a brilliant stay, sofa is very comfy and the hole house gives off a great vibe. Awesome location too. Will stay again.
Somehow our door code got mixed up with James. We have coded door locking system so that every guest has their own code. This adds the benefit of knowing that the key is not out there copied and that guests are safe. In 6yrs we have had issues twice, but I'm always close by to assist! Thank you James.
Angelique is a great host, very attentive and friendly. Her apartment is beautifully decorated and wonderfully situated for everything in the Eastern Suburbs.
Angelique has a wonderful property in a fantastic part of town. Steps from both the main street and beach in Bondi, this comfortable space was clean and welcoming upon my arrival. Angelique is a very responsive host who naturally cares about the comfort of her guests. After long days of exploring Sydney or walking along the ocean cliffs, it was relaxing to spend time at this apartment. The back porch opens to a lush back yard that can also be enjoyed inside as a result of the sliding doors in the dining room. I recommend this property and would certainly stay here again if given the chance.
