Jennifer was really friendly and helpful, and helped us get the lay of the land, and made some great recommendations for things to do and places to east. The apartment was perfect, just what we needed, far enough out of downtown to be in a nice quiet area, yet close enough for us to get downtown easily on the MUNI.
If I were to picture the perfect AirBnB apartment, this would be it. The place was spotlessly clean, modern, comfortable, and Jennifer thought of and provided everything that anyone could possibly need. Moreover, Jennifer was incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with. The location was great. The neighborhood is very nice and safe. Easy access to transportation to get downtown and within walking distance of the Mission. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone traveling to San Francisco.
Jennifer's place was much more than we bargained for. Bed is super comfy. Nice little kitchen area. She even left us a bottle of wine, English muffins, bananas, orange juice, milk, and coffee.
The neighborhood has the feel of an up-and-comer. Not well-lit at night, so some of the areas don't feel the safest, but we didn't have any problems whatsoever. There is a park nearby, a hill you can hike for great views of the city, and some great restaurants/bars/cafes to grab food and drinks. Muni is right there but we didn't use it. Bart station is probably a 20 minute walk or so. Really easy to get an uber or lyft from the apt.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our experience and would stay here again.
Jennifer was great! She was ready for us when we got there. She gave us a quick tour of the space. Also encouraged us to us the hot tub and pick fresh lemons from the yard. The space was better than pictured, also very clean. She also had some great snacks and California wine for us!
My husband and I stayed for 5 days and were very happy. The bed was so so so comfortable and it was great having some out door space.
The Precita park cafe is literally across the street for tasty coffee , breakfast, lunch, wine & beer. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it.
Our stay at Jennifer's place not only met, but exceeded our expectations.
We arrived late Thursday evening and Jennifer met us to give the 60 second tour. After the tour Jennifer let us know that if we needed anything we could call her, text her, or just head upstairs and knock on her door. That right there let us know that she would be accommodating.
Jennifer bought a few treats for us. These included a bottle of wine, a carton of OJ, muffins, banans, milk, and coffee. None of these were expected so it was a nice surprise to see that she took the time to go the extra mile.
Jennifer has really taken the time to think about her guest's experience, and has set up her place to be very inviting and welcoming. An example of this is the custom map she created which outlines things like parks, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, etc. There are several copies of the map in the apartment and the guests are free to take one with them. If a guest was new to the neighborhood, this map alone would have the guest feeling like a local in no time.
Onto the apartment. The apartment itself was very clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows, for both "TV mode" and "Sleep mode".
Walking into the restroom made you feel like you were in a spa. There were several clean towels tucked into the cubby. Hand towels, body towels, wash towels, you name it, they were all there. There were toiletries provided - such as shampoos, q-tips, lotions, etc. The shower was very roomy and was equipped with a rain head, and not the type that you have to duck under if you're 6 feet tall.
Between the closet and the dresser, there was more than enough room for 2 adults to put away their clothes.
One of the amenities (which we did not use) that highlights the apartment is the backyard patio w/jacuzzi. There is also a lemon tree in the backyard, that guests are welcome to. Even though we didn't use on this trip, it's something that we can look forward to on a future stay at the apartment!
All in all, it was a quiet neighborhood, clean apartment and very welcoming host. I would highly recommend Jennifer's place to anyone who wants a clean, quiet apartment, with easy access to the City.
The price is fair and the service provided by the host can't be beat! Great job Jennifer -- we'll be back!
About the Host, Jennifer
Hi, my name is Jennifer and I'm a graphic designer. I have been in business with my sister, who is a photographer for many years. My hobbies are walking (especially Bernal Hill), Zumba and reading (I read a lot).
We have two cats.
I have lived in Bernal Heights for 20 years and have raised two children here.
When we decided to embark on this innkeeping adventure, we really considered what kind of place we'd love to stay in and then made it happen. Come stay in our charming little place! It'll be fun.
This place is only 100 steps from the apartment. It's a cafe and a restaurant. We really recommend their sandwiches, salads and pizza (after 5:00). It's a good place to get a beer or a glass of wine.
This bus is a block away and will take you straight downtown in about 20 minutes and drop you off right near the Powell Street Cable Car turnaround and Westfield Center.
This is an organic corner market. They have really nice produce and other goodies. You can actually get groceries to make a nice dinner here.
Coffee and sandwiches.
Close by. It's clean.
Best burritos in the City. The best. Just 4 short blocks from the apartment.
Refurbished old malt shop turned into hipster diner. Food is excellent whether you eat meat or are a vegan. Get there early for breakfast, there is always a wait after 9:30 or so.
People will travel far and wide for this coffee. Each cup of coffee is brewed one at a time.
San Francisco's "subway". A quick way to get downtown, to the airport or to the East Bay. 15 min. walk
Good wine and food. Sweet little place.
A nice little library - newly remodeled.
Pretty good size boutique grocery store with organic and gourmet items. Fresh meat and fish. About a 5 minute drive up Bernal Hill.
