Other Things to Note
Please note that the bathroom has a bath but no shower with lots of hot water. The pet who is mentioned is our pet snake called Sid who lives in a heated vivarium.
The booking and interaction was all very well organised, polite and swift. I found everything as described and was warmly welcomed. It´s a cosy house with good value for money. Thank you very much Beverly! :-)
The whole experience was wonderful. Beverly was very accommodating about my travel arrangements and really friendly and welcoming. We had several really nice conversations and the whole atmosphere was warm. I'm only sorry I couldn't spend more time hanging out.
In term of facilities, everything was as you'd expect: clean room with towels and bed-linen, bathroom, wifi, use of the kitchen. Mill Road is a great area of Cambridge within walking distance of the station and town. Overall 10 out of 10.
This was my second time back at Berverley and Rob's place and I just love their hospitality and welcoming home. I have had many good conversations with them and they truly encompass the spirit of airbnb making your stay personal, friendly and convenient.
Beverley and Rob are very welcoming and I had a lovely stay at their place and in Romsey town. Room and facilities are as described
I booked the only single room these hosts offer. The hosts used to work until late at night and made a lot of noise. The bathroom had no shower just the bath handle so you had no choice but to sit in the tub to shower. They would put their towel on top of mine and I would find it wet in the morning. Also, they warned me there was a snake around the house but that I shouldn't worry if I stumbled into it since it was harmful. The kitchen was dirty if you wished to cook yourself something and so was the bathroom. In the morning workers came to the house to repair something and made more noise. One positive thing: the hosts are nice.
We are disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay. As we had pointed out it was an unfortunately busy time with builders repairs and our son's birthday. However - I think there is some misunderstanding. There is no snake in the house. There is a vivarium in an outside studio with a pet snake. It is 500 meters from the house. At no time during your stay did you mention any problem with kitchen, bathroom or towels, in spite of our enquiries. In fact you said that everything was fine.
Beverly and Rob are some of the nicest people you'll meet as you travel. Their place is walking distance from the train station in ten minutes or so, convenient and affordable. The room was clean as pictured. We were only there one night and wish that we had more time to stay with them, they treat their guests as friends.
