About This Listing
I have a 150 year old terrace house with it’s original facade, however hidden behind is a modern, architecturally designed conversion with a warehouse feel.
You have access to a large upstairs deck, private balcony and private en suit bathroom.
It is a medium sized room with a super comfortable, queen sized bed with a latex mattress, feather pillows and crisp white cotton bed linen with either a duvet and/or blankets. The room has a private en suit bathroom. It is fairly small but it is modern, fully functional and with plenty of hot water. There is a small fridge in the room and tea and coffee making facilities.
The room has two french doors which open onto a private balcony where you can sit overlooking the street. You also have access to the large upstairs private deck with comfortable outdoor furniture. It is a bit chilly in winter, but for all the other seasons, you'll find it is a great place to sit in the sun and read a book, have a drink or catch up with friends. It is spacious with room to entertain.
Downstairs there is a large, modern, fully equipped kitchen that you are free to use for light meals. You will have personal fridge and cupboard space.
I live downstairs and will be using the kitchen also but there is plenty of space.
I also share the house with a short-haired Tonkinese cat, Rosie. She usually keeps to herself.

Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as the guests like. I live here but work during the day. I am usually here at breakfast time and most evenings and sometimes during the day. I am self employed so sometimes work from home. I converse easily with guests but also do not mind if guests keep to themselves. The entrance to the house and the guest room is separate from my part so guests can be completely private if they wish. I am not offended if people keep to themselves.
Sometimes I am very busy with work and can't get caught up in long conversations, or relax, but this is rare.
See my description but I am close to everything in Central Melbourne. Close to CBD, universities, hospitals, Queen Victoria market, supermarkets, restaurants, shopping malls, boutique shopping strips, art galleries, theaters, music venues, pubs
and wine bars, Melbourne zoo, Melbourne aquarium, parks and gardens, sporting venues, car hire, public transport, tour operators and much more. Most are walking distance or short public transport ride.
I am 5 minutes from the two major public transport routes to the entire city of Melbourne. I am 2kl from Southern Cross station which is the country link railway station.
Smoking is ok but only on the outside deck or balcony please.
You are welcome to have visitors but just let me know in advance. And please no overnight stays unless they are paying guests.
Alcohol consumption is OK but please, nothing to excess and no inconsiderate behavior. I have to work in the morning!
My partner and I stayed with Lucy for 3 nights. The room and adjoining en-suite were very good - clean, spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The rest of the home was not as clean and tidy as you could possibly expect, including the balcony off the guest bedroom and the kitchen/living areas. Breakfast was not exactly as described on all days, but was still sufficient. The location is great and very centrally located, providing a great base to explore Melbourne. Lucy and her daughter Ellie are kind, easy going and we had pleasant conversation with them.
A very nice and cozy room that is a short walk away from town. The bed was comfortable and we loved the decor. We had an enjoyable stay at Lucy's place.
I arrived late on a Sunday night and Lucy generously included me in their dinner which was delicious. During my stay I felt at home, enjoying my room and the company of Lucy and Ellie very much.
The room was as described - cosy, comfortable and truly excellent to have an attached en suite!
I hope to stay again soon and would recommend this venue to others.
We stayed with Lucy during Easter and we would recommend her place highly.
The house is very well located, in Carlton: it's a short walk to Lygon street and the CBD.
The bed and pillows are fantastic, we couldn't get up early any morning..
Lucy is a very interesting woman and a great host: she prepared us a beautiful breakfast every morning with organic produce and nice coffee. So with started the day with a nice chat and a full stomach! Besides, she recommended us some places and things to do in Melbourne.
We had absolute privacy, as the room is in the top floor and the living areas are downstairs.
This was my first stay with an Air BnB host and I enjoyed the experience. It was nice chatting with Lucy and her daughter. The room was great and the bed very comfortable - perfect for my two night stay. I was in Melbourne to attend a Professional Development workshop at the Melbourne university. Lucy's place was very central to the uni and to restaurants and cafes along Lygon Street in Carlton - as well as the Queen Victoria Markets.
House is on a Very silent street of the town. Very nice stay. If you are the person love your coffee best place to stay; cross the road "Seven Seeds cafe" best coffee in town.
