I stayed at the nest for 3 months while doing a pharmacy rotation in Seattle and enjoyed every minute of my stay! The staff is incredibly friendly and timely in responding to any maintenance issues. The studio is perfectly sized for one or two people and the lofted bed is the comfiest I've ever slept in! It's located in the heart of capitol hill with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance and right next to bus stops for a short ride into downtown.
We enjoyed our stay at the nest. The location was good, only a short walk to a load of great bars and restaurants in Capitol Hill. The place itself was perfect for our short stay in Seattle - comfortable and cosy. Special mention for the great bathroom :)
We didn't meet Chris but check in/out and communication was smooth. The only issue we had was that the wifi password was not included in the literature and we had to call Tina to get it. Also the connection was not super reliable but fine for our needs.
Overall, a good place to stay and would recommend to others!
This is an interesting unit, think efficiency garage apartment meets dorm room in terms of setup. Great location from which to visit the city, close to a number of hip Capitol Hill bars and restaurants, as well as 2 grocery stores. Right on the #10 bus line. Communication with hosts was very prompt, and check in/out were super easy. Liked the two-headed shower in the bathroom! Be aware, if the larger main house is occupied (a family with several young children during my visit), expect to hear voices and potentially pounding footsteps at times. Got a wifi signal for the unit but couldn't keep a reliable connection.
The house is in a great part of town with plenty of resturants within walking distance. The room is small but is true the the description and pictures. We had a graet experience taking the bus all over town and really enjoyed seeing Seattle from the house!
This was such a cute little home-away-from-home for my husband and I during a week long stay in Seattle. Very convenient to the #10 bus, which takes you downtown. Stones throw from cite Capitol Hill shops, coffee, pastries, restaurants. Very clean and stocked with all theessentials to eat, sleep, bathe, etc. Very secure and quiet. I even enjoyed the loft bed and memory foam mattress despite some initial challenges getting up and down (I'm 6 months pregnant)! Only tiny wish was that there were more/brighter lights in the studio. It's perfectly functional, but a bit too dim for our tastes. Wireless internetwas also not 100% reliable. But overall, a great great place to stay for the cost!
I really enjoyed staying at the Nest. It's a great location and very convenient for access to all of Seattle. Parking was easy and so was getting great coffee in the morning! The bed is super high up, so if you're uncertain about heights or if you have trouble moving around up ladders, etc., you might not like the sleeping arrangement.
Nicole great to have you and glad you liked it.. We prefer the term "upwardly cozy" ;-) but, really the bed is 6ft up and there isn't a ton of room between the ceiling and bed but, there is more than enough for a great nights sleep..we thought about getting a thinner mattress but, that one is just so damn comfy we couldn't do it.
Great place, very clean, really clever use of space. Bathroom is lovely - would definitely stay again and recommend.
The "nook" was perfect for my stay - everything worked well and the bed was very comfortable even though it was lofted. I loved the bathroom and felt like I had every little bit of hotel luxury -- just at a better price!
The neighborhood is also great - not only is it right off the 10 bus line, but there are many great coffee shops and bars/ restaurants near by. I felt safe walking even late at night because there were so many people out.
Chris and his team were great hosts and I felt right at home in their little apartment.
TIPS: The bed is lofted, so keep that in mind if you're not in good physical condition (my parents wouldn't be able to handle it, but I rather enjoyed!).
Take advantage of the great coffee shops nearby (victrola and caffe ladro).
The Studio is as nice as the images make it seem. Comfortable bed, nice kitchen, nice bathroom, great location. The studio is a private rear addition to a larger home. There is quite a bit of movement from the other tenants that's fairly audible. However, never to a point where it's an issue, but it's worth mentioning. My only "real" disappointment was the unreliability of the internet connection. It kept on coming in and going out. Since, I rely on the internet for work, it was a bit of the problem. You constantly have to reenter the password through a CISCO portal in the browser, instead of being able to use your wireless connection manager. The router is stored somewhere not accessible to the studio, so it couldn't easily be reset, although someone did it for me within 24 hrs of me emailing about it. If you don't mind a slightly temperamental internet connection, this place is a wonderful little gem. Chris and his associates all were very communicative and informative.
What a wonderful introduction to Seattle! :) Chris and Joy are super hosts and The Nest is so cozy and comfortable you feel like you are home as soon as you walk in the door! All sorts of fun shops nearby and a beautiful neighborhood to stroll around any time of the day! :)
