The space

In the heart of the Berkshires, this Riverhouse is conveniently located between Stockbridge and Great Barrington. Most unique property located on the bank of Rising Pond of the Housatonic River!
Spectacular views from the deck and picture window of this upstairs artist’s aerie, filled with original art by local artists.

Built in 1860, the Riverhouse has been updated and outfitted for modern-day convenience but retains it’s charm and unique appeal. The only house located on the banks of Rising Pond, it offers spectacular views of fall foliage, wildlife, and catch-and-release fishing from the deck. Easy access from the bank of the property for small boating and sculling. Located in the heart of the Berkshires, Tanglewood, Shakespeare and Co., the Rockwell Museum, Chesterfield, summer stock theatre, music, and dance are all just minutes away. Fully equipped kitchen with all cooking utensils and serving dishes make eating on the deck and entertaining a delight. Walking distance to Berkshire Mountain Bakery for delicious french pastries, bread and take away pizza! Taft Organic Farms is right down the road 1.25 miles. Local loop bus stops right outside the door.

The open floor plan and lovely views makes this efficient upstairs apartment seem much larger than it’s 700 square feet. The two private bedrooms include twin beds (that can be made into a king) in the first and a queen-size bed in the second. The large bathroom features an antique full-size claw foot bathtub with shower. Complete kitchen with full size appliances and all cooking and serving utensils.Full laundry facilities available.

The home is ideal and a perfect place to getaway! The river widens into a small lake right behind the house and you can hear and watch the ducks landing in the water when evening comes! It's amazing!

Bee was such a great host. While we never met her, she was very communicative and quick to respond to questions. The view from the apartment is breathtaking and it's close to restaurants, historic homes, and cute towns.

Bee's place is beautiful, very clean, and with ample parking space. It's decorated with care and artistic taste and the kitchen has everything you might need. The view is beautiful and relaxing. Great location to visit the beautiful towns in the Berkshires We had a great time. The river house enabled us to spend quality family time. Thank you, Bee!!!

The apartment is just as described and beautiful. The view is lovely and relaxing. Everything that you could need is provided. I had no problem with the road noise - but I live in a more urban setting. The only issue that I had was with the band shed. At first I thought the downstairs apartment had the radio on loud. No - the shed on the property is used for band practice. It was during the day and they did stopped early. I would stay there again if I knew it would not be band time

Response from Bee:
Thank you so much for your input about my brother in law's band practice. We will definitely change the listing to include that there is a possibility of some ambient music from the music shed located near the street on the property. I can understand your annoyance since you were not forewarned. All other feedback we have received from guests has always been positive since it is usually pleasant, soft jazz, Ska or Reggae that may drift up. I am surprised you found it to be noisy as I usually have to go outside and downstairs to hear it all. From the deck it is barely noticeable. Many guests have even enjoyed the free live music on the premises by being welcomed into the music shed to share a glass of wine and watch practice with the musicians. We do appreciate your comments and hope you will return when the band is not practicing.

Everything you could want for a comfy weekend starting with a real comfortable bed, nice linens and towels. The apartment is spotlessly clean with a great view of the lake. Even though it was Fall we were able to sit outside and enjoy the view. And the location was exceptional to what we wanted to see: The Mount (Edith Wharton's house) and the Norman Rockwell museum. So many great restaurants around as well. The only drawback is that the house is on a country road and you can really hear the cars whizzing by. That dies down for sleeping time.

We had a lovely stay at the riverhouse and really enjoyed the beautiful view across the river. We really enjoyed the charm of the old house, which has been updated but still maintains many of its original charms, including the old, wide floor boards. Although the house is right on a main road, it felt very peaceful and private. We would definitely recommend staying at the riverhouse!

We had a charming stay at Bee's lovely Riverhouse apartment! The water views from the back deck were so beautiful and serene - we saw huge fish splashing around and enjoyed the birds. The location is centrally located to easily access nearby Great Barrington and several other quaint villages. The apartment itself was very clean, well cared for and had plenty of space. The bed we slept on was quite comfortable and ceiling fans and the a/c unit helped cool down the apartment for better sleeping. The only drawbacks we found were limited comfortable seating in the living room area (a comfy loveseat or small sofa would help) and the car noises from the road woke my husband up a few times (we did find the noise machines Bee thoughtfully provides, which helped a bit). Other than that our stay was perfect, and we'd definitely return! Thanks for making our anniversary trip so wonderful Bee! :)
