The geese have begun pairing up for the spring. You might catch a glimpse of the deer passing by while you drink your morning coffee from your deck.
You might choose to stop by Columbia where you will be taken back in time to the year 1852 and experience what life was like during the California Gold Rush, or visit the quaint antique shops and restaurants in Jamestown just minutes away,
If Gambling interests you try your luck at Black Oak Casino, a short 10 minute drive up the hill. Their 5 star Seven Sisters Restaurant is Famous in the Foothills.
While staying with us you will have your own private floor complete with bath, entrance, and deck . You can even enjoy a chilly evening camp fire with marshmallows.
We love meeting people from all over the world, and everyone is welcome... Can't wait to meet you!
Private entry, own deck with seating area, campfire and lake access with boats when weather permits.
We will be as accessible or inaccessible as guests desire.
Besides the beautiful sunsets and watching all the wildlife on the lake, our neighborhood consists of other large single family homes on one side and a forest on the other.
We are 3 miles to downtown Sonora, public transit is limited in our small rural community.
We stayed with Kent and Sue at their wonderful Lake House for one night and enjoyed it deeply ! The Lake experience is definitely a great one for any week-end getaway. Sue and Kent are also incredibly hospitable, and we definitely endorse the other reviewers' comments on the amazing warm muffins of Kent in the morning !
Our stay at the Lake House was amazing ! What a peaceful place and a beautiful house ! Kent was so welcoming and the room was very beautiful, our only regret : we reserved for only one nigth !
We came to the Lake House and were sad the minute we walked in because we've only booked for one night. It's an amazing house, with a wonderful view over the lake. Kent and Sue welcomed us so heartily, that we felt home right from the start. We actually wanted to go to the city center of Sonora to grab a bite, but stayed at the house instead and relaxed on the porch, watched the sunset and had a wonderful time. Thank you Sue and Kent for this experience. We really plan to come back one day! And thank you so much for the best muffins, we've ever eaten! :-) They lasted all the way down to Santa Barbara.

This was a superb place to stay. Kent and Sue were extremely friendly but you had a whole separate floor overlooking the lake. there were things to do and a good place to stop off for 2 or 3 days esp if you are visiting the stunning Yosemite park. Everything about them as guest hosts was perfect. I would thoroughly recommend. They had one dog but it was very well behaved and kept separate from you and from the room so there were no issues with that. It was well decorated, had a balcony, a lake and even a pedalo you could go round in and a place for an open fire. Real airbnb gem
We had a truly wonderful time at the Lake House and Sue & Kent are the best hosts you can imagine. They are very welcoming and helpful and we felt so lucky that we got to stay at such a unique and beautiful spot hosted by this lovely couple. Only sorry that we did not get to stay longer. Thank you both!
We had such a lovely time at Ken and Sue's place. Not only are they generous hosts that really care about their guests, the place is also wonderful. We enjoyed looking at the stars by the camp fire at night, having breakfast on the veranda overlooking the little lake and the very comfortable house. My father, brother and myself wanted to explore Yosemite on our road-trip in northern CA and stopping two nights at Sue and Kent's was a perfect solution to our travel plans. I have recommended the place to friends who are planning to travel in this region, its a true gem.
Kent and Sue are the perfect hosts. We had a long delay during our journey to the lake house, but Kent and Sue we're so gracious and accommodating! Kent's homemade blueberry muffins were the best that we've ever tried and we loved taking their pedal boat on to the lake and meeting their beautiful dog Bailey. We're so glad that we made the trip to Sonora and staying at the lake house was a highlight of our trip. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
